fantastic standing sushi place. Same fish as the main shop around the corner. Unbeatable price.

Directly from the airplane to the master. A great way to come back to Tokyo.

Local pizza, astonishingly good. The 4 Formaggi has a smoked cheese on it, which made the whole pizza taste very good.

The newest gig of Sota san. Light, fire based cooking with a hint of smoke in almost every dish. Very tasty but interestingly visually not so beautiful.

The atmosphere is very special. The restaurant is housed in a former storage and repair shop. It has only 2 stories and is completely open in the inside. The kitchen and dining room is on the gallery which covers half of the foot print and is dominated by the kitchen in the back and a very long table of 8 meters which seats a lot of people in any thinkable combination. The window row on the second floor turn into mirrors after nightfall, so the dinners sitting with their backs to the kitchen can see the action there like in a movie.
A great place Less

Very busy and popular bistro with changing menu, written on the blackboard.
Pate en Croute was exceptional, so where the other dishes.

The best of the best when it comes to classic French cooking.
For example the exquisite "Feuillantine de langoustines aux graines de sésame, sauce au curry." The dish is visually captivating, with a clever presentation—a crisp sesame disc conceals wonderfully plump langoustines resting on another sesame crisp below. This delightful little sandwich sits atop a bed of tender, deep green spinach. The langoustines themselves are a revelation—sweet, tender, and expertly cooked, easily standing out as the best I've ever tasted. The interplay of flavors and textures is remarkable: the crunchy sesame pastry provides a perfect contrast to the tender sweetness of the langoustines, while the spinach adds a subtly bitter, fresh vegetal note that grounds the entire dish. A shallow golden pool of the most incredible curry sauce completes this amazing stack, adding a glossy, smooth, elegant, and refined touch that ties all the elements together into a harmonious symphony of flavors and aromas.
Or the captivating "Fricassée de homard aux châtaignes et potimarron, sauce diable." Lobster's striking appearance and tender sweetness harmonize with deep orange pumpkin and crunchy chestnut. The sauce—exquisite, elegant, and mysteriously rich—evokes caramel, toffee, and buttery spiciness. A culinary symphony that delights the senses with every bite, leaving a lasting impression on the palate.
"L'Ambroisie" has become an iconic destination for gastronomes and connoisseurs alike, attracting discerning diners from across the globe. The impeccable service, attention to detail, and devotion to culinary excellence make every visit an unforgettable celebration of the senses. Less

Pages is definitely worth its 2 stars. I love the way Japanese people use their own estecticst and approach to cook Modern French food. The courage to reduce the plate to its bare bone and essence is engrained in the Japanese culture, while we Europeans find this sometimes hard to do. We love to add stuff.
Every dish was concentrated and well thought out. The main ingredient elevated and paire with very few flavors. The lobster tail, just grilled on the binchotan grill and a little lobster sauce. Pure pleasure.
The wagyu inside-out risotto, a crispy rice rolled in wagyu form Guma and topped with caviar. Genius.
All of these get served in a beautiful dinning room with reduced Zen-like decor and a casual front office staff who is very friendly and knowledgable.
Highly recommendable. Less

Great place. Faded greatness in the decor, youthful strength on the plate.
I went for the classics:
Black pudding wonton
Crispy veal brain
Veal Sweetbread
Each dish was executed perfectly, very tasty and well combined. With the exception of the sweetbreads each dish is priced very agreeable.
Loved it.

Another completely useless 3 star restaurant.
Set in the French mountains in a really nice old building it serves food which can only be described as a joke. The food sort of matches the monstrosities only the French can put up in their mountains with no respect for the environment.

The “masterpiece” being a peasant dish which probably will be served in the local restaurant for €6 much better. The menu started and ended with an ice concoction which had no taste but left you with a brain freeze.
To be fair the riz de veau (lower left) and the trout (upper right) was excellent.
Don’t waste your time hiking up into the French Alps. Less
