Arzak. Fantastic meal, and in no way what I expected. A perfect blend of classic and modern, always with an eye on taste first.

Regretful service and boring food less playful and flavors, lacking visuals and merely saved by some skilled cooking of meat and desserts, a pity for this ⭐️⭐️⭐️ as nice people and amazing Spanish priced wine list.

One of Spain’s iconic restaurants so we had really high expectations. Our dinner table was reserved 2.5 month in advance. We have both had the tasting menu, with 5 starters, 5 main meals, 4 desserts and wine recommendation.
By our opinion the dinner for a 3 Michelin star restaurant was average at its best. Lack of sophisticated flavours, the amuse bouche were nothing special and mostly average ingredients were used with most courses.

A return to where it all began! Over ten years ago, my delight with food was taken to new levels by a chance celebration meal at Arzak and therefore how could I not come back on another visit to San Sebastian?
