Talking about Farm2Table! This is the ultimate application of this concept. This restaurant is a villa 20 minutes outside Wakayama. It is housed in a house which looks from the outside and the inside like a Tuscan villa. The husband and wife couple only take on reservations for lunch and dinner up to 8 people. So if you turn up with the minimum of two people you have a very private dinner. Their fields where the grow almost all of the vegetables are right outside the front door. So Farm2Table takes about 2 minutes.
Obviously they specialize in vegetable dishes and all of them are exquisite. The product is excellent and the seasoning well calibrated and the execution of the preparation perfect.
The theme is Italian inspired but not Italian, we ordered the pasta dish as an extra course. The sequencing of the menu is more Western than Japanese, but there is no doubt where this restaurant is located.
The winde list is very interesting with some rare and old Italian wines on the list which are very competitively priced.
It is easy to reach but harder to book so plan well ahead when thinking of going there.
