I visited with four friends.Everything was delicious and made us so happy. We could add more items if we wanted, so we left feeling completely satisfied. The meat was tasty, but the vegetables were also great. We ordered drinks based on our preferences, but I found it a bit difficult to place the order, so I give it 4 stars.

The character "鍈" in "Eiki" comes from my father's yakitori shop "Torikane" in Den'enchofu, and "輝" is derived from my mentor, Yoshiteru Ikegawa, at Torishiki. This name reflects the roots of the chef. Shortly after opening, it became a reservation-only restaurant, and now, walk-ins are practically impossible... You must come with a regular! While inheriting the high-heat yakitori style of Torishiki's omakase, Chef Onoda's yakitori offers a consistently delicious taste that makes you want to return for a lifetime. Don't miss the limited skewers like "Aka," "Hatsu Moto," and "Shokudo"! I can't really tell the difference in yakitori, but I know it's delicious. The liver was incredibly good, and I regret not being able to try everything. The Japanese sake and wine were also excellent. To be honest, I don't remember much else.
The portions are generous, and the grilling is done over a high flame, giving the outside a nice char and aroma. The sauce is incredibly delicious. The rice served at the end is refreshing, unlike the yakitori we had before. The balance of flavors is excellent. I really like the atmosphere of the restaurant and the personality of the owner. I hope to come back again!
This was my third visit! Every skewer was incredibly delicious, but my absolute favorite was the liver (o_o)⭐︎ It was perfectly cooked, moist, and smooth, without the usual strong flavor of liver—just pure umami! I truly enjoyed my time here, eagerly anticipating the next skewer!
I visited Eiki, located in Ebisu. This restaurant was opened by Mr. Onoda, who hails from the renowned yakitori establishment, Torishiki. They have a unique omakase stop system, where you can tell them to stop serving once you feel full. Each skewer is quite large, so I found myself thinking, "Am I getting full yet?" But before I knew it, I had finished everything!Every skewer was satisfying and packed with flavor.I had expected a somewhat formal atmosphere, but to my pleasant surprise, it was lively... More

I often wonder what makes a great yakitori restaurant, and for me, the most important factors are:A welcoming chef, a comfortable atmosphere where you can talk without worrying about the volume, and delicious food that isn’t overly expensive. This restaurant perfectly embodies all of that. There are many places that are delicious but too tense, too pricey, or have a chef whose demeanor doesn’t create a pleasant atmosphere. However, this place strikes the perfect balance. While there may be yakitori... Located in a slightly more tranquil area of Ebisu, this yakitori restaurant exudes a pleasant atmosphere right from its exterior. The wooden facade, noren (traditional curtain), and soft lighting create a vibe that feels refined without being flashy.Inside, the layout centers around the counter, allowing diners to be close to the grill, where the aroma of charcoal and the sound of fat sizzling fill the air. The ambiance strikes a perfect balance—not too quiet, yet not overly noisy—making it an ideal spot for adults to enjoy a leisurely drink. What surprised me first was the grilling technique. The chicken thigh is perfectly charred on the outside while remaining astonishingly juicy on the inside. With the first bite, the smoky flavor of the charcoal is followed by a burst of chicken fat.The seasoning is just right—not too salty, allowing the sweetness of the fat to shine through. The tsukune (chicken meatballs) were particularly to my liking. They have a nice sear on the outside while being fluffy and tender inside. The fine texture of the cartilage adds a delightful crunch.Unlike some places that mask the flavor with a heavy egg yolk, these tsukune showcase the natural umami of the meat. The liver was also excellent, with a glossy exterior and a creamy center. There was no unpleasant odor, and despite its richness, it didn’t leave a heavy aftertaste. You can really tell the grilling technique is meticulous. The fatty cuts are truly delicious, with the skin perfectly crisped while the inside remains tender. As you bite into it, the fat melts in your mouth, complemented by the smoky aroma, ensuring it doesn’t become overwhelming. This experience made me realize just how much the cooking method can transform yakitori. Overall, this is not just a yakitori restaurant that merely creates an illusion of luxury; it genuinely excels in grilling. The atmosphere is pleasant, and the staff maintain a natural distance, making it easy to relax without feeling overly formal. It’s a great place for a date or for yakitori lovers to enjoy a quiet drink together. As I stepped outside after finishing my meal, I found myself naturally thinking that I would return, gazing at the warm glow of the noren. If you’re looking for yakitori in Ebisu, this place has quickly become one of my favorites. Less

Yakitori shop not far from Ebisu. The char and relatively quick cooking time for the skewers is reminiscent of time the owner spent at one of the most famous shops in the world.
