Makitori Shinkobe in Tokyo, under the stewardship of Mr. Makoto Suetomi and Chef Takayuki Kanda, has recently relocated to an almost hidden gem of a spot, further adding to its allure. Newly minted Tabelog Gold Makitoro is an innovative yakitori place serving Akita chicken in a Kaiseki style. There are vegetables dishes in between the skewers you’d expect, some of them topped with a paste made of various spieces. Everything is prepared on the multi-layer grill to perfection. My favorites were the horomon parts of the chicken, the lover and the heart. Unbelievable!
Sadly this places is almost fully booked for 2024 already.

By far one of the best yakitori / kappo restaurants in Tokyo.

This restaurant absolutely blew my mind the first time I visited and after 4 amazing meals here, I’m happy to say that I’m still in love with every aspect of it.

Next booking for me is August 2024….
Let’s hope I’ll still be in Japan at that time🇯🇵
