Le Bon Georges @le_bon_georges - top all round Parisian bistro. Very good quality filet steak with peppercorn sauce / guinea fowl pâté en croûte with foie gras, pistachio and chestnut / enormous tub of pickles / a great quality and huge chocolate mousse enough to feed a family of 5. Very light and airy with delicious shavings on top. #lebongeorges #sauceaupoivre #peppercornsauce #filetdeboeuf #chocolatemousse
Le Bon Georges - Paris (France)
@le_bon_georges is not your standard neighborhood bistro. Sure, it checks some of the boxes with a charming chalkboard menu, an impressive wine list and tables arranged very close to one another. But this restaurant is in a category of its own due to several other reasons, one of them being the very steep price tag.

Le Bon Georges is not a place to go every other week and enjoy the Parisian lifestyle. It is a place for special occasions, a destination restaurant that at the same time resembles the bistro culture beloved in the city.
For me, it is all about the beef here. It is sourced from legendary butcher Alexandre Polmard, who is the sixth generation of a family who was made famous by its exclusive and extremely high-quality cattle breed (@maisonpolmard).
In order for the beef to shine, it is prepared here with as little intervention as possible. The steak tartare for instance is only seasoned with olive oil, salt and pepper, letting the produce speak for itself.
It would be a huge mistake to come here and not order the dry aged cut on the menu. Sold by gram, it is perfectly complemented by a side of salad and their addictive homemade french fries.
Fellow beef lovers out there, make sure you flag this place on your watchlist.

Didn’t expect to open 6 bottles, good job @szsnyder_ @milanaakravets @danielkravetsesq
Great food at Le Bon Georges, very wine friendly.
Got to try the mysterious RDJ No 2, undisclosed variety, vintage and vineyard. High quality for sure in terms of richness, complexity and finesse. But I really don’t get the hype as I don’t see a huge step up from CB’s other top cuvées.

Classic. The wine list, 6 kilos of pleasure.

another one of my favourite bistros in paris, but more of a modern one with a wine focus. they recently re-established their chefs table seating at the back of their restaurant which serves a tasting menu style at a small kitchen separate from the main kitchen. compared to the main bistro its more hyper-seasonal and more of an interactive experience.

another one of my favourite bistros in paris, but more of a modern one with a wine focus. they recently re-established their chefs table seating at the back of their restaurant which serves a tasting menu style at a small kitchen separate from the main kitchen. compared to the main bistro its more hyper-seasonal and more of an interactive experience.
among the 3/5 course menu, we chose the 3 courses, where i thought was a very sufficient amount. began with two amazing mini tartlets, an eggplant puree with quail egg and a beef tartare with reduced beef stock and caviar. next was a lobster dish on a bed of summer salad. love how the meat and the claw were prepared slightly differently to bring out each of their characteristics, the meat was lightly seared so it was still half raw and claw was basted in butter.
next was a monkfish, not my favourite protein but love that it was half cooked and had a rich sauce made of french pea-crabs to complement the protein. served with a goat cheese and lobster stuffed zucchini flower which was beautiful. their meat dish is one of their signatures here, a fillet from a special charolais cattle from rhone which wanders across france to eat where the best grass are depending on the season. served with a beef jus and confit potatoes. ended with a dessert of our own choice from the main kitchen, and their chocolate mousse is one i can’t leave here without.
highly recommend both their chefs table and the main dining. lowkey enjoyed this meal more than the fancy dinings we had this trip.

Lovely dinner at @le_bon_georges with a nice line-up (Not picture Champagne Huré Instantanée and Jesn-Michel Gérin Cote Rotie Les Grandes Places) with a particularly impressive Saint-Véran by Jules Desjourneys and Bourgogne by Sylvain Cathiard.
Very busy and popular bistro with changing menu, written on the blackboard.
Pate en Croute was exceptional, so where the other dishes.
