Fantastic, a true three star, well done Guide Michelin to elevate this place.

- Gerhard Huber added a new meal Lunch at Ode at Ode
A restaurant which gets better and better. His signature dish, GREY, is one of the best conceived dishes I have encountered. Layers after layers of flavour, an excellent play with textures and wonderful aesthetics.

- Gerhard Huber added a new meal Lunch at Narikura at Tonkatsu Narikura (とんかつ成蔵)
Arguably one of the best Tonkatsu store in Tokyo and maybe even in Japan. Chef Seizo Mitani sources the best pig possible, cooks it very slowly at low temperature and produces something which one cannot imagine for a breaded pig.
The Chatonbriand (punt intended, he inserted the word ton for pig into it) is phenomenal.

Back at Den for the spring menu. Some classics like the fried chicken and some new dishes like the veal cheek with Japanese truffles. The latter being the star of the menu. The rice in two versions, firefly squid and mountain vegetables.

den is famous for its omotenashi which is truly unparalleled but I like it for its food. It is modern but respects the rules, it is tasty and very well executed. It tries to surprise but always does. Less

Fugu and truffle. This restaurant newly elevated restaurant is a complete disappointment. The fried fugu was overcooked, the dashi more or less tasteless. The rice by itself nothing special, the truffle which was shaved on top was from France (!). The killer was however the fact that the rice infused with truffle oil to make the small intense. What a scam! And, of course before I forget, the price is painfully expensive and as I had a cancellation the restaurant decided to charge me the full price for one dinner to reduce the number from 3 to 2 people. I should just instead brought one of the homeless people with me. Less
