- Gerhard Huber added a new meal Dinner at Kiraku-Tei at Ginza komon with Adley Zayan
New location in the middle of Ginza. Slightly more refined and also more expensive. Good selection of sakes, but also at a price. The food is fantastic.
The starting dish, a chawanmushi with a plum sauce on top of it, was maybe my favourite closely followed by asparagus dish.

His food is light, full of surprises, of great flavour and executed perfectly. The ingredients are well sourced and of high quality. One of the benchmarks of any Kaiseki meals is the soup. Yamagishi-san’s dashi is clear and light with an intense fragrance. The rice at the end of the meal comes in three variations and rounds off a fantastic meal. Less

- Gerhard Huber added a new meal Lunch at Kiraku at Chuka Menten Kiraku (中華麺店 喜楽)
A very old ramen shop in the Shibuya station area. Traditional Tokyo style shoyu ramen with a light broth, al dente cooked medium think noodles with some pork dumplings in the soup. Everything gets then topped up with onions to create an excellent bowl.

- Gerhard Huber added a new restaurant list 5 Perfect Morning Cafés Near Shibuya Station!
There are lots of people in Shibuya in the morning...those setting out early to go sightseeing, those arriving after an overnight bus ride, and those who have partied until morning. This is a time when most places are still closed, but there are some places where you can get a good meal.

A very good tsukumen shop close to Kichijoji station. A think soup with very tasty chashu and a perfect tamago. The noodles are thick and made out of a wheat blend.
There is no better lunch than a great ramen for less than ¥1000.

However, Patrick Kriss manages to match those accomplishments in his kitchen. The menu is well composed, internationally designed (for lack of a better word as there is probably no Canadian cuisine). The flavours are bold but well layered and the execution with any faults.
I liked sitting at the bar counter directly in front of the kitchen. One can observe the workings of the chefs and interact with them quickly if there is an additional question for a dish.
A special shout out for the wine pairing. Not really labels, but not the sometimes boring sezession of natural wines. Well selected for the dishes presented. Christopher Sealy and his team do know their metier.
Great place, I hope to get back to it soon. Less

Chef Ravi Kapur's casual eatery is a great place to have some Hawaiian inspired cuisine.
Hopper shrimp and the beef tongue steam bun being the outstanding dishes.
Wine list also interesting and too loaded with natural wines.

Normally I do not like collaboration dinners as they never produce the same result, but this time it actually did deliver on the hype.
Great meal, great synergy. Obviously the Chefs can collaborate.
