Our final stop on our mini tour of Copenhagen’s best restaurants last year took us to ⭐️⭐️ 🍀 Kadeau. At Kadeau, the cuisine is shaped by the seasons and the unique terroir of the island of Bornholm. Thanks to the island’s extended summers, they can cultivate produce like figs and mulberries that wouldn’t thrive in other parts of Scandinavia. They produce and forage most of their own ingredients on the island, while also working closely with like-minded suppliers from across the Nordics.

Next stop on my best of Copenhagen mini tour last year was to ⭐️⭐️ 🍀 @restaurantalchemist ,and to my mind the best restaurant on the planet at the moment. Having visited around 10 times now it was great to experience it with 6 newbies. As @lykke_alchemist commented, it was like me and Hayley were the calm and relaxed parents watching their 6 very excited kids running around on Christmas morning. 8 hours of incredible food, service and exceptional wines (🤯), experienced from the best seats in the house. @rasmusmunkalchemist is a true genius and as Ferran Adria said to the audience at the Gastronomia conference in Spain, “the future of gastronomy”. High praise from arguably the most influential chef (certainly to our current generation of cooks) in the World. But I couldn’t agree more. Thanks again Rasmus for another exceptional and thought provoking meal.

Opening night of @nomacph Game & Forest season last test and the first stop on my best of Copenhagen mini tour. 8 people, 4 amazing restaurants with Jordnaer being our next stop, followed by Alchemist and Kadeau chef’s table. I personally thought that this meal was one of the best I’ve had at Noma. And to share it with such a lovely and friendly group of dining enthusiasts was an absolute pleasure.

Leaving the wall to wall stag parties of Amsterdam behind us, we traveled 2 hours North East to ⭐️ @noorgroningen Noor in Groningen. This is well worth the schlep, situated in a former church, Noor can seat around 24 covers including a chef’s kitchen table where we sat that can seat a party of 8. Chef/proprietors Jeroen and Marleen Brouwer relocated here having gained a Michelin star at their last restaurant which was attached to a hotel. The hotel became too much of a burden and so they decided to relocate and focus on the food. The cooking is highly skilled and, like 212 in Amsterdam, it is umami rich and comforting. The sort of food that really puts a smile on your face. Well worth visiting next time you are in the Netherlands. (A fantastic sommelier aswell)
