Being Manchester based last year I had been exploring the various food offerings in the city. Another favourite of mine is @flawdwine , which is a wine shop come eatery right on the canal. Wine is available at discounted prices to take home, and if you choose to sit in then there is a daily blackboard menu of light dishes that are clearly prepared by someone of talent but restricted to a tiny space and a single toastie machine. They were in the process of building a space for a ‘proper’ restaurant or in their own words a “British bistro & bar” called @highergroundmcr Higher Ground which has now opened I’m happy to say. They are clearly a talented bunch at Flawd and it will be great to see what the chef can do when presented with an actual oven and hobs.
