Dinner in November 21 (I’m very behind 🤦🏻) at @tsts_chefs_table ,the chef’s table concept by @theseathesea_ in Hackney, where @steve_plotnicki managed to terrorise chef Leo Carreira and his team by buying out the counter and filling it with 12 @oadtop100 reviewers and general food nerds. It gives me a chill just thinking about cooking for the likes of Andy Hayler @wyahaw , @michaelprice ,Dino Joannides @gastro1 ,and even my Mrs @hayhay_hailz to name a few, but they handled us very well and we had a whale of a time, which is the important thing. A great evening with some interesting seafood cookery

Dinner at ⭐️ Roots, in York, back in November. This is the little Sister of Tommy Banks’ The Black Swan Oldstead, at which I have fonder memories of a meal there. I’ll be honest, one Michelin star was a stretch for me here but the company was certainly ⭐️⭐️⭐️ @steve_plotnicki 🙂

wishing I'd popped to a steak house before dining here. It was in fact a beautifully balanced meal. I even had to reorder one of the courses, a raclette
waffle with kimchi & yoghurt, it was so good.

Next on this little stage of the tour back in November where we were ping-ponging around the UK we were heading back up to Birmingham for another visit to ⭐️ @cartersofmoseley where @chefbradcarter is another chef who was using his time during lockdown to really work on his menus and dishes. This meal was really on another level from our last visit.
We were actually supposed to be eating at @ynyshirrestaurant in Wales but unfortunately they had to unexpectedly close to quarantine for two weeks due to a positive case amongst the staff. I really felt for Gareth Ward as that must have been such a blow for him and his team. Brad and Gareth are good friends so it felt right to be eating at Carters if we couldn’t go to Ynyshir. They also have a similar style to their cooking which focuses on British produce presented in dishes often of a playful nature.
Brad has made a few small changes to the restaurant and added a kitchen table where we enjoyed our meal while having the best view of all the action.
This is a fantastic restaurant and I highly recommend you visit.
