After Sweden I had a 24 hour stop over in London. This was back when all the restaurants were closed and doing delivery or cook-at-home kits. So I decided to try my hand at being a @kitchentable1 chef for the night and picked up my box of goodies from the man himself @jknappett .I don’t think I’ll be winning any Michelin stars anytime soon but it was a fun evening of cooking using exceptional produce and washing it all down with a lovely bottle. I’m looking forward to visiting the new look Kitchen Table next month with @mymuybueno @hayleyhazard1 @micailswindells

My last meal in Stockholm back in April was at ⭐️ Ekstedt. The deal here is that everything is cooked over fire one way or another. Either in the wood fired oven or over the grill or using the flambadou to drop flaming droplets of animal fat directly onto the ingredient. A little bit of theatrical fun if you sit at the kitchen counter.

Dinner at ⭐️ Etoile @etoilerestaurang in Stockholm. This was a recommendation from Frantzén head chef Charlie Benitez as I was dining there a few days previously. One to keep an eye on I think. A very young team showcase their experiences through food, with an emphasis on Asia and Africa. Some recognisable presentations I thought but maybe I’ve just eaten in too many restaurants. Certainly a tasty meal and somewhere I’ll go back to to see how they progress.

While it is tempting on a short trip to visit all your favourite spots, I have been trying to look for interesting restaurants that I have not yet visited. @restaurangcococarmen Coco & Carmen, happily was one of those places. From the group behind Punk Royale, this is the more well behaved sister to the black sheep of the family (in a good way) in Punk Royale. I really enjoyed this meal and will be heading back for sure next time I’m in Stockholm. As with Frantzén, my lunch started off with a big dollop of caviar and a generous shot of vodka. The perfect introduction to any meal in my opinion.

My next stop in Stockholm was to the fairly new @airasthlm Aira, located in the royal park of djurgården. Situated on the waters edge the architecture on the outside is impressive, but the dining room and large open kitchen is truly stunning. Chef Tommy Myllymäki and his team cook a gastronomic experience focusing on Nordic produce, using traditional cooking techniques but with the intention to always evolve and use flavour profiles from all around the world.
The service experience was fantastic and most dishes are brought to the table on trolleys and finished in front of you. Flawless cooking really and I think they will hit the ground running with two Michelin stars straight out of the gate when the guide is finally released in September I think, and a third will surely follow soon enough.
Definitely make it a priority when in Stockholm.

Again quite a young team cooking in a former bakery for 20 seated diners plus 4 at the kitchen counter. I am now noticing that I am bumping into heaps of British cooks in Stockholm. Gastrologik seemed to be a majority British brigade and here at Agrikultur we seem to be represented pretty well. I wander if that in any way speaks to the state of hospitality as a career in the UK although I did think that things were improving (Covid aside).
Very nice and certainly worth popping into. Also the more casual plates at Bar Agrikultur are worth trying out if you are passing by.
