Dinner at the excellent @vuedemonde , on the 55th floor of Melbourne’s iconic Rialto building. Vue de monde has been synonymous with Melbourne dining for over 20 years, continuing to present beautiful food that not only appeals to a sense of luxury but also honesty, integrity and an inherent natural flavour.
With a score of 19/20 in the Australian Good Food Guide awards this restaurant is very much the equivalent of a European three Michelin star place at the very top of their game. As far as I know, 20/20 has never been achieved by a restaurant over their so 19 is about as good as you’ll get. Excellent cooking from chef @hughsallen Hugh Allen who I first encountered at Noma´s Mexico popup quite a few years ago. I was terrorised as a little welcome by the restaurant when they demanded that I sabre a bottle of bubbles open in front of everyone. Not my finest hour 🤦🏻😬 Highly recommended
