Another visit to ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Azurmendi, a short drive from Bilbao. I love this restaurant and @azurmendi_atxa Aneko is just the loveliest guy. He really makes you feel like you are eating in his home rather than a three star restaurant. Another must visit for me when I’m in the area.

Azurmendi, 3 Michelin stars — a solid meal with some innovative dishes. Favorite was the tear drop peas tart, every single pea was sweat, delicate and popped in the mouth. Though the wine list was not that impressive for a 3 star restaurant. •

Our high expectations were exceeded! Undoubtedly one of the best restaurants in the world! The entire production from the moment it arrives is fantastic. Starting with the  picnic baskets, visiting the kitchen and herb garden - each with great amuse bouche - everything is perfect! After a slightly slow start thanks to the food and service at the table flavors improved to the known level, very intense flavors

Once we got seated at our table one imaginative plate followed the other, with flavors and texture combinations would be hard to describe.
Few of our favourites. Lemon grass with foie, roasted lobster, iberian pork with idiazabal cheese bonbon and pickled turnip, fritter of red mullet and caviar.

Lunch at Azurmendi. I used to be a great fan, but this meal lacked something. Mostly on the ingredients side which I felt where not of the high standard I was used to.
