Sometimes good food is discovered by accident. We were walking in the Fès medina and saw a tiny doorway that led us to Dar Tajine. It's literally in someone's home. The nice family that lives here cooked us a meal with various salad assortments and chicken tajine.

Best meal we’ve had in Morocco so far at La Grand Table Marocaine, located inside Royal Mansour. The restaurant is supervised by 3 Michelin Star French Chef Yannick Alléno, and it is renowned for its elaborate traditional Moroccan dishes. It was so good that we ended up coming here twice, ordering both à la carte and the longer tasting menu.

Highly recommend coming here if you’re visiting Marrakech. A reservation allows you to enter Royal Mansour, even if you’re not staying overnight.

Al Fassia is an institutional Moroccan restaurant in Marrakech, established back in 1985. It literally translates to “the woman from Fez”, so it’s no surprise that the store is run entirely by women from the same family (the Chaab sisters). The breakfast set comes with a delicious mixture of Moroccan pastries including pancakes, a donut and fresh flatbread served with Amlou, argan/olive oil, honey, cotton cheese, jam and fresh olives.
