Amamoto (東麻布天本) Chef Masamichi Amamoto previously trained at Umi for 9 years. After opening his own shop in June 2016, he was awarded 2 Michelin Stars just half a year later. Currently, it is a Top 20 ranked restaurant in all of Tokyo on Tabelog. With just 8 counter seats, dining at Amamoto has become one of the most coveted reservations. The 3-hour experience at Amamoto was pure pleasure. From outstanding premium ingredients to flawless showmanship and sense of humor, he's the real deal. The 10 selections of otsumami (appetizers) we had were among the best anywhere; and the 16 pieces of sushi were heightened with flavor. It was truly fun watching his performance behind the counter. The amazing thing is that he's just getting started in the lifespan of his sushi career, and there's no doubt that he'll continue to perfect his craft.
