Korean haute cuisine at 3* La Yeon (#38 on the 2017 Asia's 50 Best), located on the 23rd floor of the Shilla Hotel. The term La Yeon means 'Celebrate' in Korean, and here we are celebrating being in South Korea and enjoying a fantastic meal on our first night back in Seoul.

Chef Sung-Il Kim keeps true to the Hansik traditions, but at an elevated level of care and sophistication. The standout dish was the braised Korean beef short ribs; it was exceptional and unanimously one of the best things we've ever eaten. ?
