After a few hours of chilling in our room and the onsen, we headed to dinner downstairs. All the guests had private rooms and a host. We really enjoyed the Iyo Beef Shabu Shabu course. ?

Private onsen with garden views ♨️?? Most foreigners aren’t comfortable baring all in public onsens so these private ones are perfect!

Time to relax! Our roadtrip from Osaka ends in Matsuyama, the capital city of Ehime Prefecture on Japan’s Shikoku Island. We stayed at Bettei Oborozukiyo (別邸 朧月夜), one of the poshest ryokans in the area. There are 19 suites here, each with a private open-air onsen, terrace deck, massage chair, complimentary beverages in the fridge. Being a traditional ryokan, of course a kaiseki dinner and breakfast is provided.
