First lunch stop in Playa Del Carmen at Asadero el Pollo, a local open-air restaurant famous for their roast chicken. They have loads of whole chicken that are seasoned and then slowly roasted. When you order, they chop up the chicken and give you a tray of of tortillas, pickled onions, rice, tomato salsa, and green salsa. You then assemble your own tacos. This is the actually the first time having chicken tacos in Mexico for us. And we loved this place! It's now on our list of must-have spots in the Yucatán Peninsula.
