As we drove along the winding paths out of Kyoto, we passed through mountains, rivers, and forests. Our first stop is Hirasansou (比良山荘), a famous ryokan restaurant located in the Kuzukawa Valley countryside of Shiga. It's our 3rd time here as we absolutely loved our past couple experiences. The simple and rustic inn spans three generations; it is currently run by Ito Takeji (grandson of the original owner) and his wife Yukiko.
