- Justin Hurst added a new meal Dinner at 片折 at Kataori
Purity, focus, quality. Kataori was an exceptional meal. Worth the journey and the contortions required to get a seat. Kanazawa is a lovely city to explore - make sure you stay a while as well.

- Justin Hurst added a new meal Dinner at 隼 Toshi at Hayato (隼)
Another excellent modern Chinese meal at @restaurant_toshi. This was my third time, and it’s been consistently excellent. Wine pairings are also some of the best in town, with real depth and quality for a fair price. Watching chef work the wok over a gigantic flame makes for a fun show as well. Highly recommended.

- Justin Hurst added a new meal Dinner at とり茶太郎 at Tori Chataro (とり茶太郎)
Lively, popular, delicious, and affordable. What else could you ask for? A great yaktitori meal at @tori_chataro.

- Justin Hurst added a new meal Dinner at Yoroniku EBISU 蕃 at Ebisu YORONIKU
My first visit to the temple of meat in Ebisu, luckily grilled by @vanne_yoroniku himself. Many more pieces than pictured here, of course. I rarely eat a lot of beef, but when I do it’s really nice to appreciate many different textures and techniques.

- Justin Hurst added a new meal Dinner at 和 やまむら at Wa Yamamura
Beautiful, traditional kaiseki at Wa Yamamura in Nara. From the peak of Sakura season. Not only was the course lovely, but the service and ceramics were a delight as well.

- Justin Hurst added a new meal Dinner at 神楽坂石かわ at Kagurazaka Ishikawa
Masterful. Also, the first time I learned it was okay to order an encore of a course I enjoyed. (Seats next to us had 3). A spot at the counter in front of @teamishikawa is always a special occasion, no matter how many times I go.

A meal utterly without pretension. Nakahigashi-san (father of the chef from Cusavilla, recently posted), emphasizes the best of nature with a style thats rustic yet refined. He’s also very funny and charming. Be sure to have the natural Japanese wine which pairs beautifully.
