When @commanderspalace invites other local chefs and visiting talent to collaborate on its Meg & Company series, these are don’t-miss occasions.

This time it was the acclaimed @eunji.leeee of @lysee.nyc joining @megbickford and crew for a tour de force of creative sweets ….and some not-so-sweets that still fit the bill.

Superb wine pairings à la @cpwineguy , and another night for the books in one of the great American houses of hospitality.

A @commanderspalace dessert storm was not in the forecast, but occurred anyway.

And how about dragging some table bread through the pepper jelly sauce on the second order of shrimp Henican?

Also, new on the cocktail list, that’s a La-Ti-Da, essentially a tequila martini with onion brine.

I’m always conflicted when trying the “classic” restaurants. Food here was mostly good, but I did have to return a main course that had obviously died under a heat lamp or similar. My server was wooden, but the next table had a funny, seasoned pro. All praises though to the somm that helped me find an excellent bottle, well below my stated price point. I’d go back for the turtle soup, seafood gumbo, and the wine. That’s it.
