I celebrated my mother's birthday with Spanish cuisine. I've been to the Kōjin Building many times, but this was my first time dining here! The dishes are inspired by the Basque region in northern Spain. From the appetizers, everything was delicious—just as expected! Each dish was elegantly portioned and easy to eat, though it might be a bit light for men. The scallop appetizer, smoked whipped butter, eel, and beef were particularly tasty! For a lunch course in Ginza, the quality at this price... More

Lunch Course Visit RecordWater Octopus with GindillaThe tender texture of the water octopus is beautifully complemented by the mild acidity and spiciness of the gindilla, clearly defining its role as an appetizer.Three Types of Tapas (Scallops, Anchovies, Edamame)The presentation, where the sauce is finished right in front of you, preserves the crispiness of the tart, while the seasoning of the seafood and temperature control are spot on.Eel and Oxtail MontaditoThe rich flavors of eel and oxtail... This upscale Spanish restaurant in Ginza offers solidly delicious dishes, but they lack a bit of punch. I had the impression that Spanish cuisine is known for its bold flavors, but while the food here is tasty, there were relatively few standout dishes. I would recommend it to those who prefer a refined and more subdued seasoning, but for someone like me who enjoys a bit more impact in flavors, it might not be the best fit.

The dishes made with seasonal ingredients were all beautifully presented and delicious. The eel dish was particularly to my liking. The staff provided excellent service, being both attentive and friendly. The chocolate dessert, in particular, was among the top three I've ever tasted.

I visited for a weekday lunch and made a reservation in advance. This place offers a unique take on Spanish cuisine, with beautifully presented dishes that showcase a delicate flavor profile. I was surprised that lunch was under JPY 15,000.The tapas were so stylish that it was hard to believe they were called tapas, and the dish with eel and beef (I forgot the name) was particularly delicious. The portions were generous, and I ended up ordering more drinks than I intended. It was a great meal!

When I visited, the indoor atmosphere felt a bit stuffy. It was somewhat hot, and I was informed that the air conditioning wasn't working well. The dishes served were of high quality and flowed seamlessly, but both the food and flavors were quite rich, leaving no moments of respite. Personally, I wished for a bit more contrast in the flavors. At payment, I noticed a service charge of over JPY 7000, but given the heat, I wondered if the service could truly be considered perfect. I believe a spirit... More

I requested the specialty course with pairings. I was pleasantly surprised by how these ingredients transformed into Spanish dishes, completely changing my previous perceptions of Spanish cuisine. I had a delicious and joyful time. It's surprisingly not difficult to make a reservation... I would love to visit again.

This Spanish restaurant has earned two Michelin stars, and I had been curious about it for a long time, so I decided to visit for lunch. The boiled white asparagus and the duck were delicious. The bread was also fantastic, and I found myself wishing I could buy some to take home.

I visited for a special occasion and reserved the Standard Course, adding a wine pairing with three glasses. This was my first experience with modern Spanish cuisine. Having grown a bit tired of traditional French food, I found the Spanish-French fusion dishes to be fresh and flavorful, with a punch of seasoning that was delightful! However, the standout dishes that truly impressed me were the main course duck and the homemade bread. The duck was exceptional! I’m not usually a fan of duck, but the... More

When you think of Spanish cuisine, you might picture pintxos and paella, but the deep, thoughtful flavors here were truly remarkable, reminiscent of French cooking. The aroma design was particularly impressive. The caviar smoked with grapevines was exquisite. The foie gras infused with Pedro Ximénez was also delightful. The avocado mousse topped with gazpacho, sea urchin, and a tomato sorbet was fantastic. I was quite surprised by the shiso sorbet. Each dish had a substantial portion, and even with... More

This was the most delicious meat dish I've ever had! The traditional cooking method from the Basque region, where the meat is smoked, paired perfectly with the rock salt, making it truly delightful. The homemade rye bread, served with smoked whipped butter and olive oil, made me consider buying a smoking device for my home! The corn and foie gras had a unique flavor I had never experienced before—this dish is one of the restaurant's specialties. It was a strangely wonderful and delicious item,... More

Located on the 4th floor of a building housing Barneys, Zurriola is a quiet and sophisticated Spanish restaurant, just a short distance from the hustle and bustle of Ginza. The atmosphere is pleasant, even the air flowing over the counter, giving an impression of a restaurant that is enjoyable for the senses from start to finish. What stood out the most were the early tapas. I had a good impression when I visited five years ago, so I returned. The lunch course was JPY 8,000 five years ago, but this time it was around JPY 15,000. With two glasses of wine and mineral water, it came to just under JPY 25,000 per person. The dishes were as shown in the photos. Overall, I thought the food was delicious. The duck was cooked to perfection and very tasty. However, aside from the duck, there wasn’t anything particularly special that made me want to come back for more. That said,... More

I visited for lunch, and each dish was like a work of art. Especially the signature "Truffle Coca" enveloped me in happiness the moment its aroma wafted up. While retaining the robust essence of traditional Spanish cuisine, the light and skillful incorporation of Japanese ingredients makes it gentle on health-conscious diners, allowing me to enjoy every bite comfortably until the end.The service was also incredibly attentive, striking a perfect balance of presence without being intrusive. We celebrated my husband's birthday with lunch, and it was an emotional experience from start to finish. The food was delicious, of course, but it was also an unprecedented culinary experience. My husband, who usually loves ramen and isn't very into gourmet food, was amazed by each delicate and beautiful dish.I definitely want to come back again! ✨

I visited for the first time! The tapas had a rich flavor that paired perfectly with the drinks. ☺️ They went well with the brut, and I ended up ordering more because they were so delicious! The fish and meat were also delightful. However, I felt that the portions were a bit on the smaller side.

A few shots of an absolutely delicious menu at Zurriola. I certainly wasn’t expecting to find elegant, Basque-Japanese food on top of a department store in Tokyo, but by now I should know better. I have yet to try to find a kind of food and not be able to find it in this city, usually very well executed. For this one, lots of technique and smart flavors, great service, and a deep Spanish wine list. A definite return for me.
