- Ramen Adventures added a new meal Dinner at 夜香港 Ye Hong Kong イエ・ホンコン at 夜香港 Ye Xiang Gang
Late night restaurant Ye Hong Kong does large format dishes for the entire table. Duck, lobster, a plethora of fish, and moray eel all make an appearance. Only groups of 3-8 allowed after 9pm. Earlier it's a different concept.

- Ramen Adventures added a new meal Dinner at 重松飯店 at Shigematsu hanten
Imabari, in Ehime Prefecture, has a claim to B-kyu gourmet fame. #焼豚玉子飯 Fried pork and egg on rice with a sweet shoyu tare. FYI, the large size is way too much food.
Nice food in a nice city along the Seto Inland Sea.

- Ramen Adventures added a new meal Dinner at Ярумэн 麵屋政宗 at Yarumen
In St. Petersburg, my friend took me to his favorite ramen shop in the city. Yarumen. More solid shoyu in Russia. SPB, the window to Europe, was fantastic to say the least.

- Ramen Adventures added a new meal Dinner at Азиатская кухня SEE YÚ at See Yu
Slim pickings for ramen in the Siberian city of Tyumen, but we stumbled across See Yú and tried their bowls. Noodles, bao, and for some reason an extensive offering of natural wines. Boris Kustodiev artwork shows what I imagine Siberia looks like in winter.

- Ramen Adventures added a new meal Dinner at Aziatish at Aziatish
The best bowl of ramen I had in Russia was a simple bowl of shio ramen from Aziatish, an Asian concept restaurant on the ground floor of a Soviet-era hotel in Novosibirsk, Siberia. Why so good? The night before we had downed a few bottles of wine and chased it with vodka. The Last Day of Pompeii by Bryullov shown was about the level of brain pain. That... More

Sibir Sibir is a casual gourmet restaurant in Russia with a focus on Siberian cuisine. Wild game peroshiki topped with caviar for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Yes, please. A nice place to drink too much vodka.

- Ramen Adventures added a new meal Dinner at at RA’MEN
RA'MEN Moscow is a very anime-centric noodle shop in Moscow. The place was packed with teenage girls in cosplay hairstyles and the guys chasing them. I'm not sure, but I think the naruto in the Naruto-themed bowl was dyed bread.

- Ramen Adventures added a new meal Dinner at KU: рамен изакая бар at [ku:] Ramen Izakaya Bar
I visited Russia specifically to try Ku Ramen (yes, I'm a weirdo ramen nerd). The shop is a powerhouse in Moscow, with a couple shops doing 10 times the covers of your average Japanese ramen shop. The ramen was solid, with homemade noodles and a nice balance of salt and umami. I tried the entire menu. Tops were the tsukemen, duck shoyu, and shio. The... More

I never thought I'd be eating ゴヤチャンプル in Moscow.

- Ramen Adventures added a new meal Dinner at 麺や丸三 at Marusan (中華そば 丸三)
Marusan in Okubo.
Instead of your standard half-cooked egg, Marusan serves their ramen with a slice of Japanese-style omelet. Sweetened with a bit of mirin and sugar, this is a tasty treat usually reserved for the end of a sushi meal or a convenience store sandwich. Another topping, yamakikurage (山くらげ) is unique and special. This pickled... More
