She’s come so far since then, both in personal growth and in her development as a local chef. Today, she’s in full command of the @perrysdc kitchen and knocking out one terrific special after another. These seasonal highlights add to her sturdy foundation of crowd-pleasing dishes that have become menu favorites 🤤
What hasn’t changed about Masako is her fiercely proud Japanese heart and a deep desire to share her culture and food with the national capital region. Her home-comfort cuisine is imbued with memories of her homeland as well as the culinary influences of the women in her family from earlier generations. With the familial legacy she has inherited, Masako is making her own inroads for a diverse American audience. Earlier this year, the @statedept selected her as a member of the American Culinary Corps 🇯🇵🇺🇸
I’ll let influencers chirp about the hidden gems they’ve discovered. I’m much more interested in exalting the human ones inside those places.
