A few great dishes from the recent Friends & Family event at the new @padaekdc in Arlington, VA. This restaurant carries the same name as @chefseng’s original establishment in Falls Church where she first introduced Lao cuisine to the DMV. Years of consistently delicious cooking won her a loyal following which has helped to push Lao food and culture into a much deserved spotlight. One of the hardest working chefs in the DMV, Chef Seng is forever championing the #laofoodmovement and incrementally moving it towards greater national recognition. Washington, DC is very fortunate to call her one of our own 🤗🙏

1) CURRY PUFF – crispy pastry dough filled with curried potatoes

2) SIIN SAVANH – crispy beef jerky marinated in ginger, garlic, sesame seeds

3) MASSAMAM BEEF – southern Thai braised beef brisket, potato, onion

4) PAA TAWD – fried catfish, spicy chili-lime sauce, lemongrass, mint, red onion

5) KEOW WAN – pork, green coconut curry, eggplant, bell pepper, basil

6) CRISPY BASIL – crispy fried chicken tossed in spicy tamarind and basil sauce, onion and bell pepper
