1) LA Style Mezcal Pineapple 🤤

2) Buttered Popcorn soft serve 😋

3) To-go treat (not pictured). More like a small meal than a snack! Requires two hands to hold to eat it 🍔

Chef @tournantheitzig grew up in LA, so this dessert is a homage to his time there 🍍🇲🇽

The final treat is served at the front of the restaurant🍦

1) Wagyu Beef Strip & An Entire Bottle of Bourbon 🐄🥃

2) Epoisses Ice Cream & Hot Grayson Fondue cheese 🫕🍨

“An Entire Bottle of Bourbon” refers to the amount used to create the sauce for the steak. Accompanied by a side of “filthy potatoes”. Think buttery Robuchon potatoes jazzed up with oxtail, beef jus, and Parmesan. Goodness gracious! 🤤🤯😋

Not to be outdone, the cheese course here is a cheese ice-cream topped with a warm cheese sauce 😃

B) XO lobster goldfish

The rich man and poor man’s version of lobster, served with a geranium-infused sauce, roasted salsify, raspberries, and a butter hollandaise. Accompanied by a side of lobster-stuffed ravioli. So decadent and delicious! 🤤🦞😋

Chawanmushi served in Kat's Backyard Bamboo ❤️

This is one of the most eye-catching courses on the current menu. Think of it as vegetarian bone marrow served in a vessel of locally sourced bamboo. The egg custard bears the color of clay, but don’t let the unusual hue turn you off. The taste is wonderful with a remarkable satiny texture. Piled on top is earthy wild mushrooms, young ginger, candied hazelnuts, kumquat, shiso, and bergamot flowers. This dish was a favorite of the evening 🤤👏😋

Beggar’s Purses à la Quilted Giraffe 🦒

The first course arrives perched atop two transparent platforms, each a different height. You are instructed to lean over and consume them sans hands. Stand up if you must, but keep those arms clasped by your side or behind your back. If you resist, well, they do have handcuffs! This is fine dining kicking off with a bit of playful eroticism 😅

A drink flavored with fennel, pineapple, and olive and inspired by “Death in the Afternoon”, a cocktail whose invention is credited to the late writer, Ernest Hemingway ✍️

Misnomer notwithstanding, this drink was refreshing af and full of life 😃

Also, I ate this meal on @anthonybourdain Day, so how apropos to have his image (and presence) in the background for company ❤️
