Quarter Sheets was firmly on my list for places to try in LA. These guys have been making waves in the pizza scene, famous for their pan-style pizzas, bar pies, natural wines and desserts. I went for a big selection, tried a bit of everything. The pan-pizzas are ridiculously good. Ultra thick dough with a super crust edges and exterior. The centre though, fluffy, airy and light - almost spongey in texture with plenty of olive oil throughout. Super delicious. The toppings were yum - for me the plain red top and pepp were the best. Whilst I liked the pan-pizza, the bar pie was the winner for me. I did the cheese bar pie, with pepperoni, grana, red sauce and basil. This was super thin and crispy, almost flaky in texture and snappable, but not too thin at the same time. Layers of flavour to each bite. Super cheesy, rich and addictive. It’s a very good pizza, hits all the right notes. Some may find the dough a little too crisp but I loved it. Make sure to order the gem and chicory salad - perfect acidity to cut through it all. Annoyingly forgot to try their famous slab cake, but the ice cream combinations were great - rhubarb ripple is wild! Recommend a visit for sure #notoriousfoodie 🙅🏽♂️

Was recommended this place by so many of you and it delivered on every level. Matū steakhouse in Beverly Hills serves up these insane cheesesteak sandwiches at lunch time only. The Matū Philly Cheesesteak is filled with 8 ounces of grass-fed Wagyu ribeye and sirloin, cooper’s sharp cheese, grilled onions and a roasted hot long pepper, all on a freshly baked sesame roll. The beef was perfectly caramelised, tender and well seasoned. The char is essential and they have it down here perfectly. The roll was soft but crusty, with a lovely specks of toasted sesame seeds all over. Peppers were hot and added a much needed spice and acidity to the roll. Unctuous and moreish with oozing sharp cheese. On the side, their Wagyu tallow fried chips. Definitely recommend #notoriousfoodie 🙅🏽♂️

A lovely plate of ultra thin wagyu fillet, topped with seasonal pickled mushrooms, pine nuts, umami aioli and black truffle. The beef was beautifully marbled with the pickled mushrooms cutting straight through its richness. This is a great Italian in Mayfair, first time I’ve actually eaten here. Go heavy on the starters, for me these were the best. The pane al tartufo was delicious. Grilled focaccia, truffle ricotta, truffle honey and fresh black truffle with a sprinkling of peperoncino. Truffle overload but balanced and satisfying. Will need to go back to explore more of the menu but so far so good #notoriousfoodie 🙅🏽♂️

The unbeatable combination of steak, frites and special sauce. Easily my most visited restaurant London. Been going here since 2012 and nothing has changed. The thinly sliced entrecôte, those ultra crispy golden fries and that luscious green sauce - magical. Just when you think you’re done, that second serving comes out and it’s even better than the first. It’s hard to go wrong here. Apart from the queue if you mis-time it, there are very few flaws in my eyes. Great house red, quick and efficient service, no faffing. Went straight to the cheesecake place after to see what the hype is about - £4.50 slices of basque cheesecake that are interestingly chilled. Cheap, delicious and very well made. It’s excellent cheesecake. Worth queuing for? Maybe. For me it was the creamy texture and cold temperature that set it apart from other places serving this. Loved the chill! #notoriousfoodie 🙅🏽♂️

One of my favourite steakhouses in London. The selection of beef here is second to none, with a range of UK, US, Australian and Japanese varieties on the menu to name a few. Consistency for me is key and that’s exactly what you’ll get at CUT. The menu features all the classic steakhouse sides and sauces you want and need. The difference is that the dishes are beautifully balanced and intricate. It’s also a much quieter, more formal steakhouse to many of the places I find myself going to at the moment. The Australian strip really stuck out to me today - a thick, well marbled and deeply coloured beauty. It arrived perfectly medium rare with a lovely crust all over. Not pre-sliced, as you find more often than not these days. The sauce to order is their classic steak sauce - a sort of beef demi that’s rich, glossy and moreish. It coats your mouth in beefy umami and is such a delicious sauce for dipping all your sides into. Other must orders are their tuna tartare cones and their mini Wagyu sliders. Just delicious. As always, great service and food to match! #notoriousfoodie 🙅🏽♂️

One of the best dishes I’ve eaten this year. What a beautiful plate from Leo’s. For me, this form of risotto is the most delicious and there is just no comparison. Their saffron risotto is essentially pan fried in butter and flipped so that it develops the most incredible golden crust that encases its creamy filling. The dish here was served on a pumpkin and Parmesan fondue which was rich, mature and subtly sweet. The texture of the risotto itself, perfectly al dente and chewy with a voluptuous, velvety smooth texture. The most satisfying crunch on the outside. Those few flakes of sea salt on top was just the right amount to balance everything out. I could have had two more of these. A dish that made a lasting impression! Will need to try at home - recipe soon.. #notoriousfoodie 🙅🏽♂️

Lovely lunch at Cafe Cecilia! So many delicious plates on the specials board - the flatbread with gubbeen and hot honey was delicious. Rich, gooey and nutty in flavour, fully melted and drizzled with that sweet spice. Speaking of gubbeen, the deep fried gubbeen with hot honey was equally as delicious. Probably my favourite of the two - something about that crispy bite and gooey centre just struck a chord! Wing rib was perfectly cooked with a rich and funky dry aged flavour. This with those confit potatoes was magic. Didn’t love the peppercorn sauce though I found it had a slightly strange after taste. To finish, the deep fried bread and butter pudding with cold custard was the star. Really warm and gooey in the centre and a perfect contrast to cold custard. A really solid spot #notoriousfoodie 🙅🏽♂️

The bone in ribeye had a lovely crust. Could have been rested a tad more but it was still flavoursome and tender. Fries and beef jus were as good as always, as were those langoustines. Sweet, smokey and delicate. An excellent pub for lunch or dinner. It can get a little hot in this room if you’re close to the grill so choose wisely #notoriousfoodie 🙅🏽♂️

Nothing quite like it. Still one of my favourites for Chinese. The duck here is excellent - perfectly golden and lacquered all over with really tender and flavoursome meat. The move is to ask for them to wrap the duck for you, one because they do a much better job and two because it’s so satisfying to just grab and eat this way. On the side, my favourite sesame prawn toast, xiaolong bao, crispy prawn wontons, and their buttery, flaky Wagyu taro puffs. Dinsum and duck is all you really need.. #notoriousfoodie 🙅🏽♂️

Light lunch at Beef Bar. Their Kobe beef jamón is nuts - ultra rich and decadent with a beautiful mosaic of marbling. It’s Japanese beef, cured in Spain and aged for 18 months in Leon. A journey that allows the flavours to mature and develop. With such a wide selection of beef on the menu it’s difficult to decide what to go for. I usually go heavier on the starters and follow with lighter mains. The bao buns, baby quesadillas and of course their famous croque Sando is a must. These are three starters they have perfected. The jasmine tea smoked veal in the bao buns is delicious - super soft and moreish. Lunch or dinner here isn’t complete without their fior di latte gelato - a velvety smooth textured gelato that hits much like Gaia’s frozen yogurt. Too good #notoriousfoodie 🙅🏽♂️
