Thereβs few things quite as satisfying as the tempura and udon at Koya soho. The jumbo prawn tempura here is spectacular. They manage to create an ultra light, crispy and bubbly tempura batter that has a glass-like crunch. These things are fried till golden and the prawns are just so flavoursome and juicy. I like to sprinkle with sichimi, then throw all the condiments into the shirodashi, dip and eat. Delicious. The udon are freshly made each day too, ultra thick and bouncy with the most amazing chew. The texture is, for me, what makes these the best in London. Very similar to what you would find at a good udon place in Japan.
