A charming French bistro in Fulham. Been meaning to go here for a while and very glad to have finally visited. On the menu, a number of bistro classics along with some lovely dishes you may not have tried before. Much of the food is influenced by Claude’s hometown of Lyon and one of the standouts for me was the saucisson de brioche Lyonnais. A spectacle. On the plate, a thick slice of butter toasted brioche with a perfect sphere of Morteau sausage in the middle. The brioche was surrounded by a voluptuous, glossy and rich red wine sauce. Honestly so delicious - crunchy, meaty, slightly acidic and full of comforting flavours. I kept the plate for dipping, you probably should too. Other favourites were the French onion soup - deeply flavoured and sweet from the dark and sticky caramelised onions. Cheese soufflé was yum, light, airy and mature - again, loved the sauce on the bottom - they really know how to make a good sauce here. Beef fillet was good but nothing out of the ordinary.. apart from the sauce. A real au poivre. Lots of crushed black pepper and whole green peppercorns in the sauce. Spicy just how it should be. Everything was very tasty and rich, lots of butter but no complaints from me. Nice atmosphere in here. I went for a Dard et Ribo 2021 Crozes Hermitage on wine - stunning bottle of natural white from the Rhone valley. A good find!! Try it! Desserts.. for me the best were the pink praline tart & strawberry shortbread number. Lovely place, good food. Will be back! #notorjousfoodie 🙅🏽♂️

There are many places in London that serve steak frites, but Le Relais has always been my number 1. It’s just impossible to beat. The only place that gives you two generous servings of crispy fries, thinly sliced and grilled entrecôte along with the very best sauce in the game. Simple, consistent and so comforting. I always leave feeling full and satisfied. Make sure you ask for extra sauce.. #notoriousfoodie 🙅🏽♂️

A place you can’t skip when in st tropez. It’s been going since 1955 and has maintained so much of its old school character. A very simple but fairly extensive menu, no WiFi, no Diet Coke and no blaring music. With all of that, you’ll find it has a very unique and warm atmosphere with a buzzing outdoor dining space and unusually solid service. On the menu, plenty of fresh fish, seafood, meat and vegetables. The crudités are a must but so are the moules in cream sauce, the grilled prawns and their sensational beef tartare. The tartare here is probably my favourite from the menu - finely chopped and so well seasoned with just enough acidity, punch and balance. The paella rice is great too so get one for the middle. For dessert, their tarte tropizienne and tiny wild strawberries are great. A little tip for when you dine here is to order their house burger with a side of au poivre sauce for dipping! #notoriousfoodie 🙅🏽♂️

A stunning addition to the Ramatuelle beach front. Cybèle, designed by @cordeliadecastellane together with Machefert Group is like a little oasis, serving up a fresh Mediterranean-style menu designed by Michelin-starred Mathieu Pacaud. It’s a very tranquil setting with relaxing music and decor. The menu is designed for sharing with plenty of fresh small plates and starters. The crudo section is great here - loved the sea bass sashimi and the Akami with shiso. High quality fish that shines bright on the plate - so good to see. My favourite was the gambero rosso calque with cherries - sweet and ultra thin red prawns with a very summery dressing. The spiced tomato salad here is a must, not only because of the bowl it comes in but because of how good these tomato’s are. Incredibly plump and juicy. Some sweet and some slightly more sharp. At the back of the restaurant, two XXL green eggs - look forward to trying a little more from the grill section. Don’t forget to order their frozen fruits too - coconut is what to go for! A lovely place to spend the day! #notoriousfoodie 🙅🏽♂️

Nothing like a cosy dinner in the grill room here. Definitely my favourite room in the Devonshire. Something about that roaring log burner and the sizzling sound of steak just creates a lovely atmosphere for either lunch or dinner. Couldn’t decide between the 1.1KG T-bone and the 1.4KG beef chop but went for the chop and it was a great choice. Lovely crust all round, mature beefy flavour and tender in texture. The peppercorn sauce was the chosen one for the side, not too reduced and sticky - just the right consistency. If you’re dining here the must order for me is that pile of langoustines. They are bought directly off the boat in Oban, Scotland - honestly incredible flavour. They are just so sweet and delicious - cooked over embers so they take on a deep smokiness. I could have an entire plate of these things. On the side, it always has to be those buttered carrots, creamed leeks and the bacon/pea number. Few pubs do it properly but this is one of them. Sticky toffee for dessert is always the answer! #notoriousfoodie 🙅🏽♂️

One of the only places in London for Japanese fine dining. The chefs table here is stunning. A beautifully sky-lit 10-seater, nestled just off the restaurants main kitchen with a view directly onto the workstation. To start, a lovely mix of intricate small plates and nigiris crafted by Michelin-starred Endo-san and his team. The doubled-up chutoro nigiri was incredible - first time trying something like this. The tuna is poached, sliced and pressed into form before being licked with their complex soy. The texture of the bite is hard to describe, but one of the best single nigiris I’ve eaten. That Portuguese tuna is unreal. If you’ve ever eaten in Endo-San’s presence, you’ll understand how he has a very unique and subtle ability to elevate the entire dining experience. A true master of hospitality. Fun, entertaining but always focused on the food and experience. The chawanmushi here was special - king crab, ginger kefir, yuzu and caviar. Sweet, earthy and creamy egg custard. Really moreish and comforting to eat. Lots of dishes to talk about from Kioku: the Wagyu with eggplant and miso, the charsiu pork ramen ravioli, the tuna tartare crisp.. all so delicious with interesting layers of ingredients worked into each of them. A chefs table worth booking! #notoriousfoodie 🙅🏽♂️

Beautiful spot for sunset dinner! The hotel, designed by @starck has one of the best views over St Tropez, located quite high up La Croix Valmer. The whole vibe of this place is what makes it special - very open plan and airy. Serene surroundings. Food was good at Vista - was recommended their slow roasted lamb shoulder for main course. Ultra soft and nicely browned, carved table-side and served with crispy potatoes and a luscious lamb jus. Flavours were spot on, but thought it would have been more fall-apart tender. It ate a little more like a steak than what I was expecting. I think the special here though is their fillet mignon with cognac pepper sauce made at the table - looked great. Loved the truffle stuffed zucchini flowers - really fresh and delicious. Pan con tomate wasn’t that great, no fresh tomatoes, just a paste slapped on the sourdough. If you’re eating here, save space for their dame Blanche. Homemade vanilla ice cream and fresh vanilla Chantilly with a warm, silky smooth milk chocolate sauce and candied almonds. Too good #notoriousfoodie 🙅🏽♂️

Been meaning to visit the revamped Hero and finally got in for an early dinner. What a space. The four storey building has been totally refurbed with a casual restaurant on the ground floor and a soon to be opening, slightly more formal grill up on the first. Rustic-chic interiors and classic but elevated pub food on the restaurant menu. Everything from bangers and mash and a fish pie, to scotch eggs, a cheese toastie + ham egg and chips. Finding proper pubs in London with good food isn’t easy, but these guys know what they’re doing - it’s the same team behind @thepelican_w11 and @thebullcharlbury so you can expect a similar style of operation. The lamb ribs were delicious - nicely charred, sticky and meaty. Similar to those at Devonshire! Cod cheeks were great too, crispy, light and perfectly cooked with a mild curry sauce and lemon on the side. Cheese toastie.. phenom. Rich, but it shouldn’t be any other way - buttery, crispy and oozing with cheddar. For mains I ordered the roast chicken for two, beautifully grilled and sat on toasted brioche. Served with a chicken sauce and giroles - lovely dish. Steak and chips, very pretty! I don’t personally like onglette - found it very chewy and tough to eat, but flavours and sear were there. Fish pie, immaculate. The potato was light, fluffy, buttery and beautifully browned. It’s honestly such a lovely pub - looking very forward to the opening of their grill. Will be back soon to hit that first floor. In the meantime, go here! #notoriousfoodie

From the team behind Lurra and ex-Chiltern head chef comes the all new Basque-inspired grill in the City, Ibai. What a place. Dark, moody interiors and a large, roaring grill in the main dining room. The menu here utilises ingredients sourced from hand-selected farms to bring you the very best seasonal produce. The beef is remarkable. You won’t find better Txuleta anywhere else in the UK. From the small plates, everything from truffled pâté Basque and Cantabrian anchovies, to their incredible carabinero tartare, beef tartare with esplette peppers and the iberico jamón with peppers and crisps. Flavour does all the talking here. Everything is so fresh and well put together. For main course, I hit the turbot chop, the king crab rice and a bone-in txuleta. The turbot was incredible - gelatinous, buttery and so delicious, the best I’ve had in London. It’s sauce made from the natural collagen of the fish, olive oil and lemon juice, just how it’s done in San Seb. King crab rice, sensational. An incredible paella pan of al dente rice cooked in the most complex sauce to absorb all the goodness. The grilled legs just on top. The beef though - just crazy. Miguel Vergara black Angus - yellow fat caps, solid marbling and the most robust flavour. Tender, Smokey, funky and rich. A well rounded profile that went so nicely with the La Dome 2015. Couldn’t recommend this place enough - but go with a group so you can really order the good stuff! Don’t forget to order their gateaux basque + the croque Ibai #notoriousfoodie 🙅🏽♂️
