A serene sushi restaurant located in a small town called Iwaki.
Mixing produce from local seas and other areas of Japan, the master creates an unforgettable dining experience.

I was especially blown away by the locally-sourced fish called メヒカリ (Mehikari). The master made us taste two nigiri side by side. Both メヒカリ but aged for different periods of time. You could clearly taste the difference in the fat and it was a super memorable learning opportunity for me.

内定祝いで連れて行ってもらった思い出のお店🍽

One of the most prestigious classic French restaurants in Japan. Operating since 1984, Chez Inno is famous for their classic dishes such as their Maria-Callas-style lamb pie.
They’re also one of the few restaurants in Tokyo that still have a full cheese and dessert cart.

I strongly recommend trying a few dishes a la carte. They’re super flexible and will be able to accommodate half-portions, dietary restrictions etc.
A true gem in the heart of Tokyo.

Super popular ramen shop in middle-of-nowhere Saitama. Although they don’t have a parking space, most customers come by car to write down their name beforehand.

I went just after they opened and waited about 80min before getting in.
By far one of the best Ajitama I’ve had in a while.

My favourite restaurant in all of Japan.
This is one of the best, if not THE best wild game restaurant in Japan.

1-3枚目: 天然鰻 Wild Unagi eel
4枚目: 猪のスペアリブ Wild boar spare ribs
5枚目: きのこ鍋 Mushroom hotpot
6枚目: apéritif IWA 5
※美味しい鴨肉や熊肉も頂いたのにインスタグラムがコンプライアンスの問題でジビエの写真あげてくれない😢

All the dishes here are simple yet sophisticated.
The master is keen on using fresh produce from the nearby mountains. So what you are served that day is up to your luck and what the hunters can get.

The master, Shimizu-san, is in fact a well-known mushroom hunter himself. He’s a true professional that has been cooking with mountain ingredients for over 30 years.

Katatsumuri is quite the hike from Gifu station, but I promise you it’s worth it.

Kanazawa Maimon Sushi | 金沢まいもん寿司
One of the best affordable sushi restaurants in Japan🇯🇵

1枚目: 鯖　Mackerel
2枚目: 甘エビ　Sweet shrimp
3枚目: 白エビ　Japanese glass shrimp

I only had 30min at Kanazawa station and this was the best place for a quick but tasty platter of local sushi. The chef was super friendly as he asked me where in Japan I had come from, while preparing the nigiri.

Just from the pictures, you can tell the freshness of the locally-sourced seafood. Definitely recommend to anyone who has limited time to dine at Kanazawa station. ( I don’t recommend going to their Tokyo branches ) Less

By far one of the best yakitori / kappo restaurants in Tokyo.

This restaurant absolutely blew my mind the first time I visited and after 4 amazing meals here, I’m happy to say that I’m still in love with every aspect of it.

Next booking for me is August 2024….
