My favourite restaurant in all of Japan.
This is one of the best, if not THE best wild game restaurant in Japan.

All the dishes here are simple yet sophisticated.
The master is keen on using fresh produce from the nearby mountains. So what you are served that day is up to your luck and what the hunters can get.

The master, Shimizu-san, is in fact a well-known mushroom hunter himself. He’s a true professional that has been cooking with mountain ingredients for over 30 years.

Katatsumuri is quite the hike from Gifu station, but I promise you it’s worth it.
