We were greeted Noma-style, with one big happy cheer at the entrance. Inside, 60 diners were seated elbow to elbow at one long wooden table for a pop-up dinner titled, Noma Under the Bridge.
Noma was closed during their relocation to their new building, so this pop-up dinner series was born. The last time I saw some of the Noma staff was six months earlier in Tulum, Mexico, where they held another Noma pop-up dinner series, Noma Mexico. It was a lot colder now, and since there was no official running electricity, it was also a lot darker.
The courses were created by Noma staff, each dish with it's own personality, but still Noma-esque. And yes, ants were served at the very end of the meal. The evening was boisterous, casual, and cheerful and I loved every minute of it. The pop-up was supposed to end in September, but was extended until November 12, 2017. Less

Creative, bold-flavored, farm-to-fork cuisine, located in the Mission district. I really like this spot. Very fun and friendly place. The food is ambitious, interesting and the direction was clear, but the acidic notes ran a bit dominant.

Yank SIng is my favorite dim sum restaurant in the US. I like it so much, that I don't even go to any other ones anymore because they are such a disappointment. When I lived in San Francisco, I worked near their other location and would stop in as often as 3 times a week for either a small nibble or a feast with co-workers. To go to the same restaurant twice and during a short trip speaks volumes, as I will be at the other location in just a few days and couldn't wait so ran in for some bites. Good ingredients, nice flavors and it's clean.
