Aca is an acclaimed Spanish restaurant in Tokyo led by chef-owner Tetsuo Azuma, renowned for his inventive Spanish Japanese fusion cuisine. Aca’s legend began in Kyoto back in 2013. It was relocated to Tokyo in 2020 as Chef Azuma was trying to upgrade the experience with better décor, kitchen equipment and wine service. ⁣⁣

The first course was a refreshing snap pea cardozo infused with smoky butter, setting the expectation high! It’s followed by the signature kohada bocadillo which is famous for its balance between sweetness, acidity and richness. The explosion of flavors continued with a crispy and moist makiyaki kinmedai ichiyaboshi. The Al Ajillo was infused with kuruma ebi miso, making it a perfect dip for rye bread. The shark fin which soaked up all the evil olive oil was to die for as well. ⁣

The choose-your-own-steak session has been part of the experience for ages. I had two portions of steak, both beautifully crisped up while the center remained juicy. If you had to pick one, I recommend a more fatty cut like sirloin or ribeye. ⁣

The meal finished with a homemade goat milk gelato topped with olive oil from Chef Azuma’s hometown, Okayama. Desserts with a savoury twist are my favorite, I wish I could add one more portion honestly.⁣

Aca is my favourite fusion restaurant in Japan. Do try it out if there’s a chance, I guarantee it will be a worth remembering experience in your life.⁣

Küşleme Kebaphan - Gaziantep (Turkey)

When planning my food itinerary in Gaziantep, I couldn`t help but notice that @kuslemekebaphan was much more distant from the city centre than most of the other restaurants.

This made me question if it would be worth going all the way there and I confess that I even considered skipping it. Ultimately, the fact that the place was recommended by my dear friend and Turkish food concierge Sinan Hamamsarilar (@tatdedektifi) made me decide to go. Sinan is never wrong.

Getting there was easy, as I jumped on a cab and showed the driver the address. The trick would be getting back to the city from the restaurant, which is located on the side of a highway.

On my way there, the more kilometers we covered, the more I thought about my options. With the much needed help of a translation app, I arranged for the driver to come back and pick me up in about an hour.

Sinan`s instructions on what to order were very straightforward: “Everything you can eat”. In this case it meant a nice plate of küşleme kebab with a side of roasted chillies and tomatoes, fresh pita bread and a salad bowl. Oh and a lahmacun, just because life is good.

After finishing the job and paying my bill, it was time to start hoping that my driver had actually understood our arrangement. As I walked outside, there he was, finishing another cigarette while waiting for me. I jumped back on the car for what would be a very pleasant ride, admiring the surroundings this time around, as I had nothing to worry or think about.

Paris is one of my favourite cities for Vietnamese food. Today a colleague brought me to a Vietnamese restaurant featured in the LV guidebook.

Before I could inspect the menu, the lady boss came over and recommended the “tasting menu”!

We ended up with so much food I’m contemplating skipping dinner. As expected, it was really really good; and comprised both Northern and Southern cuisines. Less

Glad to be back at「Aska」. Flawless execution and heart full hospitality. A few new dishes were really impressive. The pairing,no matter alcoholic or not, elevates the whole dining experience. One of the best Nordic restaurants in New York that should not be missed.

Menton 🇫🇷 Postcard from the beautiful Côte D’azur 🌊

Blessed to have experienced the former world n1 along the coast of southern France this weekend.

@restaurantmirazur, led by the innovator and genius @maurocolagreco, is an ode to nature and the elements (we were lucky to explore the restaurant’s famous garden pre dinner!).

We were blown away by the stunning location, the lush surroundings and the magic combination of ingredients.

The September menu highlighted the incredible ways that leaves can take center stage in a dish - which was an amazing opportunity for us to try leaves and plants we’d never tasted before.

What a special night!
