The skin was crispy and fragrant, while the inside was surprisingly moist and juicy. The contrast in textures was irresistible, and I was excited from the very beginning.I also had the pleasure of trying the duck tsukune for the first time, which was exquisite. Although I usually find duck fat a bit overwhelming, this dish had just the right balance, showcasing the unique flavor of the duck without being greasy. It completely changed my impression of how delicious duck can be.The sansho pepper paired wonderfully with the yakitori, and I found myself wanting more.I enjoyed both white wine and Japanese sake with the meal, and both complemented the yakitori perfectly. To finish, I had a fragrant grilled rice ball chazuke. From start to finish, my satisfaction was high, and I can understand why reservations are hard to come by.This is definitely a yakitori restaurant I want to visit again. Less

It was my first visit in a month!!Today’s dishes tasted even better. All you can drink for JPY 14,000 is a great deal! For those who drink a lot, it’s very cost-effective.The dressing on the second salad was delicious. I wonder how they make it. I’d love to know!Maybe they mixed in some aosa?

Located in Higo-bashi, I had been curious about this place for a long time. This time, I visited for my husband's birthday dinner, a special occasion. It’s a reservation-only restaurant, and I was lucky to secure a booking through the OMAKASE site. My expectations were quite high even before arriving.Unfortunately, we were greeted by a sudden downpour on the day, and we arrived soaking wet. It was a bit of a mood dampener, but the warm hospitality of the staff, who kindly lent us towels, left a great impression (*´-`).The only option was the Omakase course, allowing us to fully enjoy the restaurant's recommendations. With an all-you-can-drink option, the price was JPY 14,000. For non-alcoholic drinks, it was JPY 12,000 (tax included). This price, including drinks, is unbeatable in terms of cost performance. There were no additional charges, so for those who love to drink, it’s a great deal to enjoy without worrying about the cost! I opted for non-alcoholic drinks, and there was a wonderful variety, including pineapple juice and Japanese pear juice, which made me want to keep trying different options! Here’s the course content and my impressions:Onion Soup → The sweetness of the slowly simmered onions was delicious. A comforting start to the meal.Salad → What is this salad? It was just a salad, but it was incredibly tasty. The seaweed and shiso dressing was exquisite.Chicken Thigh Tataki → Definitely an MVP. The exquisite cooking and aroma are unmatched by other yakitori places. Juicy and tender, the rare doneness was perfect!Chicken Breast Heart → I love heart! ♡ It was plump and elastic, thick and easy to bite into, with an amazing texture. No unpleasant smell, just heavenly deliciousness.Negima Gizzard Liver and Kumquat → Whether you like liver or not will probably determine your preference. I tend to dislike it, but I could enjoy this one! Rich flavor and texture! Shiso Tsukune Chicken Thigh Duck Mince → The juiciness of the duck meat stood out in this skewer! The pairing with the sauce was excellent, almost like eating a hamburger, haha.Onion → What is this? It’s so creamy and sweet, it hardly feels like an onion.Chicken Tender Bonjiri → It felt fatty, but strangely not heavy.Kumquat Duck Breast → One piece is not enough. It was too delicious.Negima Grilled Rice Ball or Chicken Chazuke to finish → I chose the grilled rice ball. It was perfectly crispy all around and the best I’ve ever had.Every skewer was so delicious that I found myself looking up at the heavens with each bite, and my husband, the star of the day, seemed very satisfied too (^^).Honestly, the cost performance is unbeatable. The course was filling, featuring the finest skewers that can only be tasted here. And to think I got change back from JPY 30,000 is astonishing. The staff's attentiveness was wonderful, and I was glad I chose this place for such an important day.I don’t know when I’ll be able to come again, but this has definitely become one of my favorite spots that I want to revisit.Photography: Nikon Zfc Less

Even before enjoying the meal, I felt comforted by their warm hospitality. We enjoyed a course meal centered around yakitori, and the all-you-can-drink option was a delightful bonus, allowing us to savor both the food and drinks. Since it was a birthday dinner, we took our time to enjoy the meal while sipping drinks. Each skewer of yakitori was grilled with care, achieving the perfect doneness. The outside was crispy, while the inside remained tender and juicy, releasing the rich flavors of the chicken with every bite. Each part had its own unique texture and taste, making it exciting to anticipate what would come next. The course also included dishes beyond yakitori, allowing us to enjoy a variety of flavors rather than just focusing on the skewers. Thanks to the all-you-can-drink option, we could enjoy our drinks without hesitation, and before we knew it, our conversation flowed easily.I approached this birthday dinner with a special feeling, and I was able to have a wonderful time, thanks to the delicious food, drinks, and the staff's attentiveness upon arrival.Although it was my wife who brought me here for my birthday, it turned into a lovely memory. I look forward to returning to enjoy more yakitori at a leisurely pace. Less

I made a reservation through Tabelog about two weeks ago for a girls' party!Even on a weekday evening, both the tables and counter were fully booked!Every skewer and vegetable was delicious! The tataki was especially good, cooked to perfection. The skewers were generally small, which was just right for my appetite. It was a great meal!
Including non-alcoholic drinks, the total was JPY 12,000. I was amazed by the great value for money. Every dish and skewer was delicious, and I was extremely satisfied. The soup that accompanied the dashi rice ball at the end was so tasty that it left a lasting impression. This is a wonderful restaurant that guarantees satisfaction!
Goichi never disappoints.I have many favorite yakitori places, but Goichi truly stands out as a top-tier restaurant. From the delicious salad at the start to the flavorful ochazuke (not made with tea) at the end, everything was delightful.I made a reservation for a duck hot pot in February for my next visit.
Ordered Menu:Omakase Course JPY 14,000, tax included, with all-you-can-drink option. This time, I went for the usual yakitori course, but in winter, hot pot is a must.I usually order the small grilled rice ball with a large soup, but this time I opted for the regular grilled rice ball instead.Goichi at Higobashi truly has the best closing dish!It was a great meal.Thank you, Goichi!
This was my first time tasting such delicious yakitori. Every skewer was perfectly grilled, and the final soup was rich, allowing me to fully appreciate the flavor of the chicken. All-you-can-drink for JPY 14,000 was a great deal. I was also pleased with the wide selection of drinks. The counter was spacious, clean, and created a calm atmosphere, making it very comfortable to dine in.
I visited recently, and the yakitori was expertly grilled, allowing me to fully appreciate the flavors of each part. The delightful aroma and perfect grilling made it an exceptional experience. The atmosphere in the restaurant was pleasant, and the staff provided attentive service, making for an enjoyable time. I definitely want to visit this place again.
Absolutely delicious! The best yakitori is grilled to highlight the fluffy, fresh chicken rather than being overly crispy. At JPY 14,000 per person, including all-you-can-drink, the cost performance is exceptional. So far, this is the number one yakitori I've ever had.The atmosphere of the restaurant is relaxed, making it easy for new customers to feel welcome.

It's easy to assume a place is delicious when it's hard to get a reservation. However, my impression is that it’s not as exceptional as expected. The next available reservation is next year... sigh. The taste is of salt-seasoned yakitori, and I don't feel a significant difference. A place I often visit scores 85 points, while this one is around 87 points—just a slight difference. Upon entering, you are met with a surprisingly harmonious scene. Staff members, gathered around the grill, meticulously check the condition of the chicken together. They quietly observe the pace of the diners, coordinating perfectly to serve the next skewer at its peak quality. This stable course structure is supported by a flawless team synergy. The meal begins with the signature dish, "Momono Tataki." The surface is beautifully charred over charcoal, while the inside retains a perfect rare texture. With each bite, the rich umami bursts forth, gently heightening your anticipation for the meal ahead. The rhythm of the course is meticulously calculated. The "Tsukune" is fragrant with shiso, while the "Bonjiri" drips with sweet fat with each bite. Each skewer showcases the perfect balance of salt that enhances the ingredients' natural flavors, along with the deep aroma of the sauce. The vivid differentiation in seasoning according to the cuts reflects an uncompromising attention to detail. The finale is the "Yakitori Donburi," where the grilled chicken, infused with the aroma of charcoal, intertwines with vibrant egg yolk. The rich chicken broth gently envelops you in a comforting fullness. This finely honed course structure continues to captivate food enthusiasts in Osaka. This course starts with a rich chicken broth and offers a satisfying variety of dishes. The stylish interior, attentive service, and well-paced delivery of yakitori and side dishes create a delightful experience. The textures have been thoughtfully enhanced, making each bite enjoyable. The chicken neck, heart, and skin particularly stood out to me. It seems they also have a good selection of Japanese sake available.

◆Visit Rating 4.24 2nd Best Yakitori in Osaka 15th Best Yakitori in Japan 3 Tocks from Goemiyo ◆About the Restaurant This renowned yakitori restaurant, known for its exceptional grilling techniques, is incredibly difficult to book. Originally established in Doyama-cho, Kita Ward, it relocated to its current location in Higobashi in 2019. Is this considered the main branch? The course with all-you-can-drink options costs JPY 14,000 for alcoholic beverages and JPY 12,000 for non-alcoholic drinks. Reservations can be made via OMAKASE or by phone. On this day, the course featured Tanba red chicken and young chicken. When I first learned about this place, the all-you-can-drink option was included for JPY 9,000, so the price increase is quite significant. ◆Impressions I made a reservation through OMAKASE and arrived before 9 PM. There were still a few guests dining inside. Although the meal starts at the same time for everyone, it seems that the departure times vary for some guests? Or were they late? The interior features an impressively long counter, arguably the longest for a yakitori restaurant in Japan. The atmosphere is not formal, making it very comfortable. The service was attentive and excellent. Additionally, despite the all-you-can-drink option, the drinks were served promptly, which is a testament to its popularity. The quality of the drinks was surprisingly high for an all-you-can-drink option, especially the white wine, which was remarkable enough that I wouldn’t be surprised if it cost JPY 12,000 per bottle. (Note: Red wine is charged separately.) The yakitori, while appearing quite ordinary, delivered an explosion of flavor that left me in ecstasy. This restaurant exceeded my expectations in a positive way. The deliciousness of the yakitori is an essential element of this popular Osaka restaurant, and it’s not just about the all-you-can-drink option; the yakitori is genuinely delicious, and luckily, drinks are unlimited. This place is highly recommended among yakitori restaurants in Japan. ◆Meal Cost (Tax Included) JPY 14,000 ◆Dishes Ordered (Food Only, Tax Included) ✔︎✔︎ Tomato and Onion Soup Very delicious with a unique flavor ✔︎✔︎ Salad Also very creative and tasty, with a special touch ✔︎✔︎✔︎ Grilled Thigh Very hearty, bursting with flavor—this dish completely won me over. ✔︎✔︎ Breast Looks light but is incredibly delicious. ✔︎✔︎✔︎ Heart Surprisingly delicious despite its appearance. This yakitori course is exceptional for pairing with Japanese sake, and even after a long absence, my spirits were lifted from the very first sip.The meal began with a refreshing "Tomato and Onion Soup" and a "Salad," setting the stage for the standout dish, "Double Chicken Thigh Tataki." From there, the course showcased the skillful cooking techniques with a variety of yakitori, including "Chicken Thigh," "Duck Mince," "Chicken Breast," "Gizzard," "Liver and Heart Strings," "Chicken Tender," "Heart," "Shiso Chicken Meatball," "Neck," and "Cartilage." Each part offered a unique texture, richness, and aroma, allowing for a natural enjoyment of the differences. The addition of "Onion" provided a slight softening of the flow, leading into the second half with "Duck Breast," "Kinkan (Kumquat)," "Bonjiri (Chicken Tail)," and "Shishimaru (Chicken Wing)," which deepened the umami experience. Despite the numerous skewers, the course remained engaging and satisfying until the end.I hadn’t planned to pair yakitori with sake, but I ended up enjoying quite a bit of sake. Starting with "Heartland," I moved on to "Kikusui Tokubetsu Junmai," "Kuroushi 'Betsuzumi' Junmai Sake, Tōji's Recommendation," "Morishima Junmai Ginjo Yamada Nishiki," "Abekan Junmai Karakuchi," "Yamagata Masamune Junmai Ginjo Omachi," "Akabu Junmai Sake," and "Mansaku no Hana Super Limited Junmai Daiginjo, First Pasteurized Sake." One standout moment was when the staff suggested pairing "Morishima Junmai Ginjo Yamada Nishiki" with the "Liver and Heart Strings," where the rich flavors beautifully complemented the clean contours of the sake, making it genuinely delicious. Such recommendations significantly enhance the satisfaction of the meal.To finish, I had the "Chicken Rice Bowl (Medium)" and "Chicken Soup." The remarkable aspect of this course is that even after such a hearty meal, I could still enjoy it comfortably, landing smoothly at the end. That said, I left thinking, "Next time, I’ll go for the Chicken Rice Bowl (Large)," which speaks to the high satisfaction of the evening. This place offers a wonderful experience of yakitori and Japanese sake pairing, allowing you to savor the flow of flavors in a reassuring course. Less
