I arrived around 10 AM and managed to get ticket number 39 just in time. After exploring the shopping street for a bit, I returned at 1:08 PM. When my curry arrived, I was given recommendations on how to enjoy it.As I opened the clay pot, the incredible aroma heightened my appetite. Taking a sip of the broth, the spices spread across my palate—complex yet harmonious, they blended beautifully. The tomatoes added a refreshing twist, providing a different kind of stimulation that left my mouth feeling invigorated, making me crave another bite.To finish, I added rice and pickles to the clay pot and mixed in an egg, creating a light and satisfying conclusion without any heaviness lingering. The spiced rice and pickles were perfectly balanced, leaving me with a profound sense of satisfaction as I left the restaurant. I definitely want to make time to visit again when they reopen. Less

Now, I had my sights set on challenging "Hashimoto Ya" (・・;). I was thrilled to finally get the chance to visit, so I headed to Nagahoribashi with great anticipation.Despite the intense heat, the temperature was still bearable enough for cicadas to sing that day! Of course, I was equipped with my sunshade.I arrived at "Hashimoto Ya" at 9:20 AM, and there were already five people in line... By 9:30, there were nine in line, and by 9:45, it had grown to 18! Amazing! I was glad I arrived a bit early (^^).At 9:58, they started distributing numbered tickets, and at that point, there were 34 people in line! By 10:03, they had distributed the necessary number of tickets, and I successfully placed my order and made my payment by 11:06, securing my spot for the second round at 11:15! I got my ticket! I cooled off for a while at a nearby café.When I returned to "Hashimoto Ya" a little before my designated time at 11:10, I was able to enter smoothly after a short wait. My order was served shortly after 11:15 (^^).⭐︎ Asahi SUPER DRY → First, I quenched my thirst...◉ Rich Chicken Curry With extra chicken, tomatoes, and pickles → Following the recommended way to enjoy it on the back of the menu, I opened the lid to reveal a wonderful aroma of spices that whetted my appetite! When I sipped the broth, I could distinctly taste the sweetness of the vegetables in the curry-flavored soup! Next, I scooped up various ingredients from the bottom of the clay pot, poured them over the rice, and added a suitable amount of onion pickles to enjoy it as curry rice. Just as the name suggests, it was rich in flavor! The chicken, along with the sweetness and umami of various vegetables and Rausu kombu, combined perfectly with the spiced rice cooked in chicken and vegetable broth... Wow, it was delicious! Truly a top-notch curry rice worthy of the western champion! I continued to enjoy it with the marinated tomatoes and chicken, and finally, I added the onsen egg and curry sauce left in the clay pot to the rice and onion pickles, transforming it into a creamy curry porridge, finishing it all in one go! The spice was prominent, yet the overall flavor was gentle, leaving me completely satisfied! Thus, this wonderful curry feast came to an end... I hope to find another opportunity to enjoy this rich curry again! It was magnificent! It was a great meal m(_ _)mNow, I’m off to enjoy the world of a certain eastern champion in Tokyo... Less

Although I ordered level 3 spiciness, it was quite spicy right from the first bite—similar to level 3 at CoCo Ichibanya.Pairing it with the spiced rice enhanced the flavors even more. Beneath it, there was plenty of tender, slow-cooked chicken. In the middle of the meal, I added the spiced rice and onion pickles to the curry and broke a soft-boiled egg into it.The tomatoes and soft-boiled egg mellowed the spiciness, making it easier to eat.I enjoyed every bite until the end.It was a great meal! I don’t think it takes more than an hour to get a numbered ticket, but if it does, I apologize in advance. This is just based on my experience in the summer of 2026.After returning to the car, I recommend killing some time and then getting another parking ticket to go back for a meal, as this is the most cost-effective way to manage parking fees.If you go a bit further east, you’ll have to walk quite a bit, but there are cheaper parking options available. There are also some inexpensive parking lots nearby, but they are often full.I hope this information helps if you decide to drive. The taste is absolutely exquisite.Since they sometimes take long breaks, be sure to check their social media! Five minutes before our reservation, we returned and were shown to the counter seats.I ordered the Chicken Curry with Rich Flavor and large rice for JPY 1550 (JPY 1400 + JPY 150). It had increased by JPY 200 since my last visit in March. The curry soup, enriched with chicken broth, was delicious. The chicken thigh pieces (two) were tender and flavorful. The spiciness level 3 was just right. While the spice level was enjoyable, the default level might allow for a better appreciation of the soup's umami.I mixed the onion pickles generously served with the rice and the marinated tomatoes that accompanied the clay pot of curry as I ate. I couldn't stop scooping with my spoon. In the end, I added the rice to the clay pot, mixed it with the soft-boiled egg, and grated in some mixed spices with Sichuan pepper from the mill.It was a great meal. Less

Each plate showcases a variety of spices that blend beautifully, revealing different flavors with every bite. This isn’t just a curry that seeks to be spicy; the careful balance of aroma, umami, and lingering taste is truly impressive. While the presentation may seem simple, each bite reveals a depth of flavor. The individuality of the spices shines through, yet the overall harmony is remarkable, creating a sensation that the deliciousness intensifies as you continue eating. The ability to enjoy every last bite without losing interest is a unique charm of this restaurant. The interior is not particularly spacious, but it is clean and has a calming atmosphere. My food arrived in about 5 minutes, and I was asked about the recommended way to eat it. I was told to keep the onsen egg intact until the end, then mix it with the remaining rice. So, I started by scooping the curry directly. It was indeed spicy with a complex flavor, showing that a lot of care went into its preparation. I chose a spice level of 2, which wasn't too overwhelming, allowing the spiciness to shine through. There were plenty of pickles, which I enjoyed intermittently to refresh my palate. In the end, I added the leftover rice and pickles to the curry and mixed in the onsen egg. The egg made it quite mild, so personally, I found it tastier to eat it as is, but my companion enjoyed it.The flavor was, of course, delicious, and even though I ordered a small portion of rice, the quantity was more than enough, providing a very satisfying curry experience. Over time, they expanded to use the entire bar space, shifting to a style that primarily offers their signature dish, "Rich Chicken Curry."They are open only for lunch on weekdays and operate on a numbered ticket system, making it quite challenging to visit.I left Shin-Yokohama in the morning and arrived at Shin-Osaka around 9:10. I took the Midosuji Line to Shinsaibashi Station and walked to the restaurant, arriving at 9:40. At that point, there were already six people in line, and the queue continued to grow.Ticket distribution began shortly after 10:00, and I managed to get my ticket around 10:10, with a reserved time of 11:20.I walked to an office located about a 10-minute walk from the restaurant and returned five minutes before my reservation time, successfully being seated at the far end of the counter. The interior has a calm atmosphere, reminiscent of a bar.I ordered the one menu item, the Rich Chicken Curry for JPY 1,400, with an extra meat charge of JPY 300, which I had already paid for when I received my ticket. It was served within three minutes of sitting down. The standout feature of their curry is their unique style of "grinding over 20 types of whole spices with an electric mill at the time of serving, and finishing it off by heating it in a clay pot."As the lid is opened, an explosive aroma of freshly ground spices fills the air. The flavor is truly rich and satisfying, perfectly embodying the term "rich."The dish includes tender, slow-cooked chicken, along with tomatoes, komatsuna (Japanese mustard spinach), and mushrooms, providing a great sense of satisfaction. In the end, I added rice to the clay pot, broke an egg into it, and enjoyed every last bit.I believe there may not be a better spice curry than this one, and the price is quite reasonable.I thoroughly enjoyed the rich spice curry. It was a great meal! I made a reservation for the first slot at 11:05 and headed to a nearby café.When I arrived about five minutes early, the staff opened the door for me to enter. Although there were quite a few seats inside, it seemed that reservations were for groups of four at ten-minute intervals. By the time I got there, they had already run out of some items. The curry served in a clay pot was filled with the rich aroma of spices, and I was full of anticipation. There were instructions on how to eat, so I followed those. First, I took a sip of the soup. It was creamier than I expected, and the spices spread across my palate. Delicious. I carefully took out the chicken without breaking the egg, and it was firm with a nice texture. There was quite a generous portion. The rice itself was infused with some kind of broth, consomme, or bouillon, making it tasty on its own. I enjoyed it by dipping it in the curry, adding a bit of crushed tomato for acidity, and along the way, I also added some pickled onions. Then came the fun part of mixing in the egg. I added the rice and pickles to the clay pot, mixed in the egg, and sprinkled in some ground Sichuan pepper. It had a unique flavor that is rare in curry, but it paired wonderfully and was delicious. It was worth the wait. It was a great meal! Less

By 9 o'clock, there were 5 people in line, 13 by 9:30, and over 30 by 10! I was counting out of boredom! On that day, ticket distribution started at 10! In order of arrival, we provided our names, number of people, and orders, paid in advance, and received our tickets to return 5 minutes before our designated time. By the way, I ordered the Chicken Curry with extra tomatoes, and we requested spice levels of 1 and 2. We were scheduled for 11:10! When it was time to enter, I could already smell the delicious aroma from outside, and it was even spicier inside! The spice rice was served first, followed shortly by the Chicken Curry with extra tomatoes in a clay pot. They kindly explained the recommended way to enjoy it! When I opened the lid, it was bubbling away! I started eating as recommended, and it was rich and flavorful! The aroma was delightful, and the depth of flavor was incredible! I added the spice rice to the clay pot early, and the tomatoes really enhanced the dish! Grinding the mixed spices with a pepper mill added even more flavor! I will definitely visit again! I was told the earliest serving would be at 11:30, which is great! Chicken Curry Rich Flavor: JPY 1,400 Spiciness: 1 (Medium) Extra Meat: JPY 300 Total: JPY 1,700 I received my 11:30 ticket and proudly left the restaurant. Just after I stepped out, they announced "sold out!" From what I heard, they usually sell out around 40 servings.I killed some time with coffee and returned at 11:25, five minutes early. The left sliding door at the check-in area wouldn’t open? Oh no?? When I opened the right sliding door, I realized the entrance was actually the door on the right side. How embarrassing! Finally, I entered the restaurant. The aroma of spices filled the air.I took a seat at the end of the counter.I read the recommended way to enjoy the dish while waiting. At exactly 11:30, my covered curry arrived. With great anticipation, I unveiled it!I slowly savored the aroma. Since it was freshly ground, the scent was strong, but I couldn’t quite identify it.Now, time to dig in!I slurped the curry. It’s a spice curry, but the umami is incredibly strong! Amidst that, there’s a nostalgic flavor reminiscent of homemade curry. It’s very complex and has depth. The chicken pieces are chunky and delicious, tender yet firm. The tomatoes are sweeter than sour, which pairs perfectly with the curry. I regretted not adding more tomatoes because it was so good! The rice itself is seasoned rice, so it’s great on its own. The sweet and sour onion pickles add a nice accent. In the end, I tossed the rice and onion pickles into the clay pot and cracked an onsen tamago (soft-boiled egg) on top. The grand finale was like a legendary star, akin to the national treasure Kitajima Saburo... meaning it was incredibly delicious! While the aroma was noticeable, no particular spice stood out strongly, making it feel relatively familiar even for someone used to Japanese curry. The rice was seasoned very lightly, resembling a dry curry. At the end, it was recommended to mix the rice with a hot spring egg in a clay pot and add Sichuan pepper, which I also tried. It was somewhat reminiscent of mixing rice into a soupless tantanmen with a soft-boiled egg, which was quite interesting.Overall, it was a carefully crafted, high-quality curry that truly deserves its reputation as one of the best in Osaka. I ordered the Chicken Curry with all the toppings and secured a table for 11:15. I killed some time in the car before returning. The restaurant has a counter-only setup with ample spacing between each person, creating a clean and comfortable atmosphere. The background music is calming and tasteful. They limit the number of diners to about 6 at a time, which keeps the environment relaxed and enjoyable for meals. The curry is served in a clay pot, and the moment I opened the lid, the spicy aroma was irresistible! They ensure that the dish stays warm and bubbling until the end. I highly recommend following their suggested way of eating. Mixing the leftover rice and onions with an egg in the pot and adding the special spices at the end is simply fantastic! It was delicious! Even though I only ordered one dish, it felt like I enjoyed two. For those driving, it’s a bit of a walk, but the nearby parking is extremely expensive, so I recommend the parking lot near Man'ei, which charges JPY 300 for an hour. If possible, taking the train would be a better option. Less
I arrived around 9:50 AM on a weekday. There were about 10 people in line for reservations. I believe they have a reservation capacity of about 50 people per day.Today, I arrived around 10:40 AM, and there was no line in front of the restaurant.I wondered if they were already full, but as I approached, I saw a sign saying, "Reservations, please come in," and I was able to book a slot for 12:15 PM. I ordered with a spice level of 3, without any extra chicken or rice. With about an hour to spare, I wandered around Shinsaibashi-suji and returned to the restaurant in time to sit at the counter. Both the counter and tables were fully occupied, but it didn’t feel cramped. After about 5 minutes, my curry arrived in a clay pot. When I opened the lid, it was bubbling, and the aroma of spices filled the air.Inside, there were chunks of chicken, pickled tomatoes, a soft-boiled egg, and a generous amount of onions. The rice was served separately and had a color reminiscent of curry pilaf, possibly cooked with spices. On its own, the rice didn’t have much flavor. There were guides on how to eat at the counter and tables, and I followed the instructions to first savor the clear part of the curry.Since I chose spice level 3, it was quite spicy. However, it wasn’t overwhelming, and I could enjoy the flavors of the spices and the base broth. The consistency was light, and I scooped up the onion fibers as I ate. I couldn’t identify any particularly sharp spices; they seemed to be well-balanced.The chicken retained its shape but could be easily broken apart with a spoon. It was tender and well-seasoned.After eating about half, I added the rice to the clay pot and broke the soft-boiled egg. The egg mellowed the dish, creating a delightful mix that resembled a porridge or soup curry, allowing me to enjoy a change in flavor. The atmosphere inside was calm, and the staff, possibly the owner’s wife, was very attentive. The interior was dimly lit, making it hard to see the restaurant's layout upon entering.Since it was served in a clay pot, the dish remained hot until the end, making it better to savor it slowly while enjoying the evolving flavors. The spice level 3 provided a gentle sweat-inducing heat, and those who are sensitive to spice could still enjoy levels 1 or 0.If you’re unfamiliar with the reservation system, it might be a bit confusing, but arriving early makes it easier to choose your desired time and plan accordingly. Next time, I’d like to try spice level 0 and add some extra ingredients.I definitely want to visit again.I enjoyed every bite until the end. Less

There was a pamphlet on the table explaining the recommended way to enjoy the dish, so I decided to follow it since it was my first time.First, I scooped up the curry's top layer and took a sip.Delicious! I could even taste a hint of sweetness. It had a rich aroma, and the spices were perfectly balanced without being overpowering.I carefully enjoyed the chicken while trying not to break the onsen egg. The chicken was tender, not too flaky, but very hot! My mouth was on fire. The marinated tomatoes and onion pickles had just the right balance of sweetness and acidity, making them a perfect match for the spicy curry. (But remember, don’t eat it all—leave a little behind!)Finally, I dove the remaining rice into the curry and mixed it with the onsen egg to finish it all off. There are many places in Osaka that serve delicious curry, but this was the best curry I’ve ever had. While managing a schedule of serving curry every 10 minutes, the owner greeted each customer leaving the restaurant, which was very impressive. No wonder they have won the BRONZE award for two consecutive years.A renowned restaurant with a Tabelog rating of 4.04.It was outstandingly delicious!!It was a great meal.I would love to visit again! It was absolutely delicious!I arrived around 9:45 and there were about 15 groups waiting. They started distributing numbered tickets around 10:00.When I opened the lid, the curry was bubbling away.I chose a spice level of 2, which was just right—full of flavor and perfectly enjoyable. There was plenty of meat, making it a truly fateful curry experience.

This was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and I couldn't afford to lose this battle!! I woke up at 4:50 AM, took the first Shinkansen (departing at 6:00 and arriving at 8:22), transferred to the Midosuji Line, and arrived just before 9:00 AM, being the first in line! It seems many people aim to arrive exactly at 9:00, as five more arrived just one minute later! The strategy is to arrive 10-5 minutes before the target time for the best chance!! Tickets were distributed at 9:55 AM!! By the time the reception opened at 10:00, there were already 27 people!!! I entered the restaurant at 11:10 during the first round!Despite being an extremely famous restaurant, it surprisingly turned out to be a recently trendy rental curry shop!!!I opted for the Chicken Curry with Rich Flavor. You can choose the amount of ingredients and the spiciness level (1-5)!Since I was on a business trip, I went for the regular portion. The default spiciness is 2, but I was told that level 3 makes you sweat quite a bit, so I went for the spiciness level 3!!!The spiciness was perfectly balanced for my taste—pleasant on the tongue, yet I was sweating profusely! This curry, reminiscent of the rich bonito and kombu chicken broth curry from Hachioji Wakka in Tokyo, had a punchy flavor thanks to the adjustable spiciness. It wasn't just about the delicious broth; the spices, sweetness, heat, acidity, and bitterness were all well-balanced, and the flavors matured beautifully from being simmered in a clay pot! When it comes to evaluating curry, I also place great importance on whether the meat and vegetables are tender and infused with flavor. Given that it was cooked in a clay pot, it exceeded my expectations by a large margin!!!As expected from a restaurant ranked 2nd in the nationwide Tabelog curry category, earning a bronze medal!!! I believe the rich flavor of the broth curry, which resonates deeply with the Japanese spirit, is the main reason for its high rating!Personally, I prioritize punchiness, so I would rate it lower than Osaka's Higobashi Ghar, Saitama's Sengen-dai Mokuro, and Fukuoka's Watanabe-dori GARAM!Nationwide Tabelog Curry Rankings:24/3043/5074/100I visited this restaurant!!!Additionally, this review marks my 100th bronze review on Tabelog at the main store!!I started writing reviews around the end of 2023, and including the places I visited before I began writing, I have reviewed 25 gold, 113 silver, and 210 bronze establishments! The chicken is so tender that it falls apart with a spoon, blending its savory essence into the curry, creating a harmonious experience with the rich broth. The creaminess of the soft-boiled egg, the acidity of the accompanying tomato, and the crunchiness of the pickled onions add delightful accents. The rice is a spiced rice made from two types of Japanese rice, sautéed with Daisen chicken fat, about 10 spices, and onions, enhancing the curry's deliciousness. Less

Orders are taken during ticket distribution and payment is in cash.Upon re-entering at the designated time, my curry was served in a clay pot, bubbling within 5 minutes. When I opened the lid of the clay pot, a rich aroma of spices wafted out, just as the menu name suggests. I first enjoyed the curry alone, then included the rice. The curry is made with about 20 types of carefully selected spices and herbs, and the aroma is truly exceptional! Using no water, the flavors of the Daisen chicken, natural Rausu kombu, and aromatic vegetables are extracted from the moisture of the onions, resulting in a deep and rich flavor that is addictive. At the end, I added rice and onion pickles, sprinkled some Sichuan pepper, and crushed an egg to enjoy a different flavor profile.I savored every bite until the very end.
