I visited Hashimoto Ya, which has been ranked 2nd in the curry category on Tabelog nationwide, before my afternoon meeting in Osaka.Since reservations are not accepted, I arrived early to get a numbered ticket. I reached the restaurant at 9:10 AM, and there was already one person in line! The waiting area was well organized, and a delightful aroma of spices wafted outside, heightening my anticipation. After about an hour of waiting, they started distributing tickets around 10:05 AM, with about 30 customers already in line. The entry time is flexible, and I chose the first slot at 11:05 AM. It seems they guide groups of four (or maybe five) every ten minutes to avoid congestion. You place your order and pay at this time, and the only curry available is the "Rich Chicken Curry," which is quite simple! I opted for a large portion of rice with level 2 spiciness and extra chicken. Please note that they only accept cash for payment. When I returned five minutes before my entry time, they announced that ticket distribution had ended (laughs). After waiting outside, I was called in, my name was confirmed, and I was seated. The interior has a cozy feel, with a bar-style counter and a few tables. The curry was served just 3 to 4 minutes after I sat down. There’s an instruction manual on how to enjoy the curry, so be sure to check that out! The flavor is truly a delightful experience of rich spices! Served in a clay pot, it remained piping hot, and the level 2 spiciness combined with the spices made me break a sweat! The combination of curry, rice, and pickles was excellent, enhancing the flavors and making it incredibly delicious! Plus, the clever variations in how to eat it kept it interesting until the very end! While there are some hurdles to get in, this bowl made me want to come back again someday!
