Tucked away in Wan Chai, “Xin Rong Ji” is a Michelin-starred gem known for elevating Zhejiang cuisine🥢 The original location hails from Taizhou, and the group now boasts over 20 branches across China and beyond, including this elegant Hong Kong outpost🇨🇳 We came specifically for their iconic Peking Duck - pre-ordering is a must, as it takes about an hour to prepare⏳

The whole duck is presented table-side, then expertly carved in stages: first, the glistening crispy skin is served on its own to savour its delicate crunch🔪 Next, the succulent meat is sliced and paired with pancakes, hoisin, cucumber, and spring onion🤤 Finally, the leftover bones are wok-fried with salt and pepper - a deliciously satisfying finish to a three-part duck experience💯

香港・湾仔にある「新荣记（シン・ロン・ジー）」は、中国の浙江（せっこう）料理を提供するミシュラン名店🌟 本店は中国・台州にあり、現在では中国本土や海外に20店舗以上展開しています🌏 名物の「北京ダック」は注文から提供までに1時間ほどかかるため、事前予約がおすすめです🕐 丸ごと焼き上げた鴨はテーブルまで運ばれ、まずはパリパリの皮が丁寧に切り分けられます❤️‍🔥 続いてジューシーな肉は甜麺醤、胡瓜、白ネギ、薄餅と共に味わいます🥒 残った骨の部分は揚げられ、塩胡椒でパンチの効かせ、最後まで余すところなく味わえる三段構成でした🫶

A wonderful lunch at @estro.hk and this may be my favorite menu yet! From the first course to the strawberry dessert, our meal was strong from start to finish. The oyster with tomato & smoked caviar was a stunning combination as was the perfectly cooked abalone with vermentino sauce. I’ve always loved the pastas here and this time was no exception. Both the linguine with its well-balanced sauce of almond & rocket, and the bottoni showcasing the fragrant pecorino cheese were superb.

After an astounding lunch at DiverXO my
lovely group of dining enthusiasts took an evening flight from Madrid to San Sebastián and we all checked into our hotels. Day 3 of the tour began for some with breakfast pintxos in the old town followed by late morning negronis (this became a bit of a ritual throughout the tour as I absolutely encourage such behaviour 🙂). We were then picked up by our private drivers and taken to our next meal which was just up the coast in the fishing village of Getaria. @elkano_jatetxea Elkano is legendary for its grilled turbot and we were in for a treat. It’s always great service and food at Elkano but I have to say that this visit it seemed to be on another level. The entire menu was fantastic and the turbot of course was superb. We also opted to try their beef chop in order to compare with the ones that we would be having at Ibai, Txispa and Etxebarri. It certainly held its own against the others. I can’t wait to visit again next year
