I couldn't ask for any better than dim sum with friends at Yank Sing! I became so engrossed in the conversation and the food that I only captured what we sampled from the first cart that passed by. That said I can never resist the shu mai, the har gau and the custard tarts for dessert.
To celebrate my upcoming 4.5 month trip, friends took me to Riverside Seafood Restaurant for a seafood extravaganza that included live crab, geoduck, surf clams and prawns.
After Mayor Daniel Lurie's inauguration, we decided to have lunch at A Mano rather than brave the long lines getting into the reception at City Hall. The food did not disappoint: pasta with lamb sugo, mushroom pizza, little gem salad and chicken meatballs.
I think I could eat at HK Lounge Bistro everyday and not tire of the variety of offerings: crab claws, shrimp toast, baked barbecued pork buns, and everything else!

A great way to celebrate the new year: pepperoni pizza, and Caesar salad at Flour+Water Pizzeria in North Beach.
Some highlights from my trip to Portland: fried okra at Screen Door, "The Pearl" pizza with lemon and fried sage at Oven and Shaker, braised beef and orzo at Mediterranean Exploration Company, and Lost Eggs at Broder Soder.
