Michele Belotti consistently produces some of the best Italian food at his namesake restaurant in Oakland. His beef tartare is outstanding, the better lettuce salad is exemplary and stuffed pastas are as good as you’ll find anywhere: his mother’s Bergamot-style casoncelli stuffed with beef, pork shoulder, and prosciutto; and his tortelli stuff with... I made a quick trip to Portland and was blown away by the Korean inspired food at Jeju. Everything from the small bites to beginner to the mango yogurt to end was exemplary!
You can’t do better than the double patty smash burger at the Butcher Shop! Everything is big here, including the cookie!
The three kinds of French fries at Holbrook House were the perfect accompaniment to my “light” lunch of chopped salad!

The menu consisted of salmon sashimi, smoked tomatoes with egg, corn mushi, spiced steak and caramelized pineapple sorbet with coconut foam.

For $89 Azalina Eusope of Azalina’s creates a five course menu filled with flavor combinations you may never have tasted unless you’re intimately familiar with Malaysian food. The menu changes monthly and I cannot wait to go back next month!
I loved my lunch at Okane, which I think is an overlooked and underappreciated restaurant.
It was an a16 weekend! Sunday we drove up to the new a16 Napa, where we had the charcuterie platter, octopus, beans, pasta, and about every dessert on the menu. That was after going to the farmers market on Saturday and enjoying a chicken and artichoke Panini at the a16 stall inside the Ferry Building.
