San Francisco has always been known for its fine dining prowess. The newly opened Wolfsbane adds even more legitimacy to that assertion. Owners Rupert and Carrie Blease offer a 10 to 12 course tasting menu ($248) with five snacks to begin-including artichokes with sunflowers-and about as many to end. In between are such masterful dishes as chilled seafood served on an ice block, cabbage with house made buttermilk and sea urchin, striped bass in a frothy vanilla emulsion, grilled lobster, and duck breast with figs.
