Michele Belotti consistently produces some of the best Italian food at his namesake restaurant in Oakland. His beef tartare is outstanding, the better lettuce salad is exemplary and stuffed pastas are as good as you’ll find anywhere: his mother’s Bergamot-style casoncelli stuffed with beef, pork shoulder, and prosciutto; and his tortelli stuff with cheesy polenta with rabbit sugo.
