I generally don’t do written reviews because I find them boring, but here is one of @levi_cph so you can understand why its my favorite non Michelin starred restaurant in Copenhagen, and a recommendation to anyone either living in the city or visiting. Link below, here a short teaser.

The Food
Saving the best for last, because when you go to a restaurant, you go there for what’s on the plate. The kitchen is led by the Sicilian chef Gabriele Rizzo @gabrieleri1212 who has a background in the world’s best restaurant and also had his own shop, Haidan. And the food here is absurdly good, mixing Japanese flavors like shoyu, yuzu, ponzu and wasabi with his italian heritage, all dishes are booming with flavor and the presentation is elegant and restrained. Of course, he cannot be an Italian chef without serving pastas - and the pasta at Levi are the best I’ve ever had. My all time favorite is the rabbit ragout which is out of this world, but whether the king crab, langoustine or truffle ravioli - they are all booming with flavor and novel combinations with respect for traditions but desire for innovation based on the highest quality products. Oh, and the wagyu arrancini is maybe a top 3 bite in Copenhagen and the pistachio ice cream is nothing less than the world’s best. And to me, the food at Levi surpasses several of the Michelin starred restaurants in Copenhagen, but I guess that’s not a conversation we are having.

Go to Levi, leave a little drunk with a full belly and happy heart.

🇹🇭 เป็นครั้งแรกที่ได้มาร้านนี้ อีกหนึ่งร้านอาหารไทยในเครือของเชฟต้น แต่จุดที่น่าสนใจคือเชฟใหญ่ของร้านไม่ใช่คนไทย ซึ่งตอนแรกก็แอบคิดอยู่เหมือนกันว่าจะตีความรสชาติแบบไทยออกมายังไง เพราะโดยส่วนตัวแล้วจะค่อนข้างชอบอาหารไทยที่ทำโดยเชฟคนไทยมากกว่า

แต่หลังจากได้ลองก็ต้องบอกว่า เชฟ @marcelo.baruch ทำได้ดีทีเดียว แต่ละจานรสชาติมีบาลานซ์ที่น่าสนใจ กลมกล่อมในแบบที่เข้าถึงง่าย ไม่เผ็ดจัดจ้านแบบอาหารไทยแท้จ๋า ซึ่งส่วนตัวรู้สึกโอเคเพราะไม่ได้ทานเผ็ดเก่งอยู่แล้ว

โดยรวมเป็นมื้อที่รสชาติลงตัวดี มีเอกลักษณ์เฉพาะตัว และสัมผัสได้ถึงความตั้งใจของเชฟและความประณีตในรายละเอียดของแต่ละจาน ที่สำคัญราคาคอร์สน่ารักด้วย 😍

Lunch at @onericelondon #prinvite

Bringing authentic Teochew flavours to London, One Rice serves up the warmth and comfort of traditional home-cooked meals.
I started off with a house classic, a traditional springroll stuffed with pork, bean curd and chinese water chestnuts. Perfectly crispy, and fulled of flavour. Next was black pepper chicken wings with rice. Delicious wings with rice, great dish for lunch. My favourite dish of the day was the braised pork lo-mein, amazing flavours, loved the noodles. And finally another house classic, something I've never tried before, king prawn clay pot congee. Rice cooked in stock, a little bit like porridge, but much nicer.

Overall i really in enjoyed my first time at @onericelondon and would definitely return

Here’s another hit from @mypulcinella , a new Italian joint with an old soul and a menu with all kinds of hearty dishes.

This one’s calling to me in cold weather - the oyster artichoke soup.

Ripples of oil and cream swirl over the surface around reefs of fried oysters that burst with the oyster juice still within.

You want the meatball, of course as well, then some cocktails (they make great alcohol-free versions here too, if you’re doing that dry thing, and good on ya).

See if there’s a show at the related just up the narrow staircase or just go up for a drink anyway to make a night of it.

After all, it’s cold outside.

One of my absolute favorite restaurants in Honolulu and also one of the hardest to get into. Tonkatsu Tamafuji is a place I return to because of how consistently excellent the food is.

The katsu here is everything you want it to be. Crisp on the outside, incredibly juicy inside, and cooked in a way that highlights the quality of the proteins rather than masking them. Each cut feels carefully chosen and handled with care, resulting in a meal that is deeply satisfying without feeling heavy. It’s also a reminder that you don’t have to go all the way to Japan to experience truly great Katsu.

Reservations are famously tough to come by, but there’s good news! Tamafuji is expanding into a larger space with more seating and an open kitchen, which should make it easier for more people to experience what they do so well.
