Alright, buckle up, Cambridge, because I just had a dining experience at Kibou Japanese Kitchen & Bar that was nothing short of an absolute revelation. Forget what you think you know about Japanese restaurants; Kibou isn't just serving food. They're crafting an immersive journey for your senses.
From the moment you step through the doors, you're transported. The interior is a masterclass in stylish, vibrant Japanese artistry. Think dazzling murals that pop with colour, intricate cherry blossom installations that seem to bloom right before your eyes, and a cool, almost theatrical glow from the subtle neon accents. It’s chic without being stuffy, lively without being overwhelming, and frankly, I spent a good five minutes just taking in the sheer beauty of the place before even glancing at the menu. Whether you're nestled in one of their intimate booths, soaking in the energy of the main dining area, or even getting a peek at the culinary magic happening in the open sushi and hot kitchens, every corner feels thoughtfully designed.
And then, the food. Oh, the food! We embarked on a culinary adventure, starting with their new crispy sesame prawn boa toast. Wow, this was awesome. Next up, tuna sashimi, Wagyu, and tuna tartare gunkan and lightly seared Hokkaido scallops with goma dare (sesame sauce), chilli oil, cucumber & tomato salsa. Followed by seven different blow touched nigiri, this was absolutely incredible. The flavours were out of this world. We ordered the snow crab and avocado salad, which was ok, I found it really needed a dressing. Next was one of my favourite dishes, sirloin of beef tataki & truffle nigiri!
8-piece nigiri with sirloin of beef tataki & truffle mayo, tempura flakes & chives, this was insanely good. Last up was the bluefin tuna chutoro uramaki, perfect dish to finish this incredible meal. For dessert, we shared a yuzu tart and a japanese baked cheesecake, which were both incredible. Overall, @kiboucambridge is 100% with trying, and I'd definitely put it in my top 3 restaurants in Cambridge

A Hidden Gem for Noodle Lovers!

Laksamania is a delightful spot for anyone craving authentic and flavorful Southeast Asian cuisine. The star of the menu is definitely the laksa – rich, aromatic, and perfectly balanced with spices. The broth is hearty and comforting, and the noodles are cooked to perfection. I also tried the Malaysian satay chicken and was impressed by the depth of flavour.
The spicy wasabi prawns were delicious, and here, crispy duck boa buns are extensively good

The ambience is cosy and inviting, and the staff are friendly and attentive without being intrusive. Portion sizes are generous, and the prices are reasonable for the quality of food.

Highly recommend this place for anyone looking to experience a true taste of Malaysia in the city. Will definitely be coming back!

Khanom Krok in Borough Market is the spot.
I tried their king prawn Pad Thai, beef panang curry with sticky rice, and my favourite Thai dessert coconut sticky rice with fresh mango! The Pad Thai was excellent, massive prawns and tasted amazing.
The beef panang curry was delicious, and the coconut sticky rice and mango was the perfect end to this incredible lunch!! Excellent value for your money. Get there early before they sell out!

Tucked away in the heart of Mayfair, @thepunchbowlpub l offers a delightful blend of traditional British charm and contemporary sophistication. From the moment you step through the door, you're greeted with a warm, inviting atmosphere that feels both upscale and relaxed.The food is where The Punch Bowl truly shines. The menu champions modern British cuisine with a focus on seasonal and locally sourced ingredients. We started with fresh baked scallops with chorizo crumb and seared kidneys on toast with peppercorn sauce — both beautifully presented and bursting with flavour. For mains, the rose veal schnitzel was cooked to perfection, served with a fried duck egg and caper sauce, and grilled lemon sole with new potatoes and broccoli Dessert was a Tiramichoux Bun, Valrhona Chocolate, which was delicious and a small cheese board.

Drinks were equally impressive, with a curated wine list and a great selection of @butcombe craft beers on tap. The service was friendly and attentive, striking the right balance between professionalism and warmth.

Whether you're looking for a romantic dinner, a celebratory meal, or simply a cosy pint in a beautiful setting, The Punch Bowl is a standout choice in London. A true gem with history, heart, and an exceptional kitchen. Definitely recommend it!!

Lunch at @edo.izakaya

Tucked into the heart of East London, EDO is a spot that balances modern Japanese flair with warm hospitality. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with slick interiors and a relaxed yet elevated vibe—it’s the kind of place that feels effortlessly cool without trying too hard. The menu is a well-curated mix of izakaya-style small plates and elevated mains. Highlights? The beef tataki was delicate and punchy, with a yuzu kick that danced on the tongue. All the sushi was super fresh and very well made. Delicious crispy tempura prawns a must order. Service was slick—attentive without hovering, with staff who actually know their menu and aren’t afraid to make recommendations. Cocktails were sharp too—their take on a shiitake negroni was dangerously easy to drink.

Whether you're there for a date, a low-key celebration, or just want to eat somewhere that knows what it's doing, EDO is a solid shout. Pricey? A little. Worth it? Definitely

Dinner at @rosasthai newest restaurant in Balham

Thai Food is one of my favourite cousins, so when I was invited to the opening night of the newest rosa thai, I was very excited! And it's wasn't disappointed, I can't believe it's a chain. The food and service were as good as any independent Thai in London. Loved the menu, loads of great dishes to choose from, this is what we ordered....

Thai Fried Chicken (TFC), Veggie spring rolls, grilled pork skewers, Thai calamari, prawn crackers

☆ King prawn Pad Thai

Thailand’s national dish needs little introduction, but our version is famous for a reason. Rosa’s co-founder Saiphin spent years perfecting her homemade tamarind sauce, and our noodles are cooked fresh to order with eggs and your favourite add-on, topped with crunchy crushed peanuts.

☆ Chicken Pad Kra Prow

A spicy & fragrant classic with Thai holy basil, fresh chillies, and green beans in our stir-fry sauce. Served just like in Thailand with jasmine rice, a crispy fried egg and prik nam pla dip on the side.

☆ Gaeng Tay Po' Red Curry chicken

Our signature curry balances Rosa’s legendary rich red curry paste with crunchy ‘morning glory’ greens, vibrant tamarind, fragrant basil, and fresh chillies.

Everything was absolutely delicious. The sharing platter was amazing, especially the grilled pork skewers, so much flavour. The red curry was excellent, rich and fragrant sauce. The pad thai was perfect, just the right amount of spice. And my favourite Thai dish pad kra Prow was incredible. This is an absolutely must order!! I'd 100% recommend you try @rosasthai there all over London, so please go check it out

Lunch at @brothermarcus_ Borough Market

Brother Marcus was created by three best friends, Arthur, Alex, and Tas. They bring the flavours and recipes of the Eastern Mediterranean to London. Having travelled the region extensively and experienced the food, drink, and culture it has to offer first hand, what you get at Brother Marcus is our take on the Eastern Mediterranean way.
The restaurant itself is stunning, and I love the decor. It's so busy, the atmosphere is great, and the service is excellent. We were invited to try their Marcus choice menu, great value at £42pp. The chef picks what you have. This is what we had.....

All the food was excellent, really tasty and fresh flavours. My favourite dishes were the panfried halloumi and the greek feta sausage. But everything was packed with flavour. I'd definitely recommend you check it out!! There's a restaurant in Borough Market, Angel, Spitalfields, South Kensington, and Covent Garden. And i here there is one more on its way, so very exciting times.

Lunch at @alfonsinalondonx

It is the hottest new South American restaurant in London. Serving delicious dishes from all over South America, Peruvian ceviche to incredible steaks from Smith field market. Loved the restaurant, open plan kitchen, and great cocktail bar. The menu is amazing too, sharing starters and a selection of mains and some fantastic desserts. This is what I ordered....

☆ Cebiche picante Catch of the day (white fish), octopus, shrimp, calamari, onions, chilli, sweet potatoes, choclo, cilantro, and cancha in spicy leche de tigre.

☆ Tuna tiradito Black garlic sauce, crispy sweet potatoes, pickles, and pachikay.

☆ Chicken Yakicuchos Grilled chicken thighs skewers, glazed with aji panca teriyaki, aji Amarillo sauce, crispy skin and chalaca

☆ Carne picante beef empanadas, onion, peppers, spring onions, olives, eggs, cumin, and chilli.

☆ Selection of tacos

The Good Shepherd Braised St. Louis pork ribs al Pastor, beans, pineapple gel, pickled red onions, and cilantro.

Tacos Baja Catch of the day tempura, avocado and jalapeño purée, chipotle cream, and pico de gallo.

Lamb taco Smoked pressed lamb, refried lima beans, mint sauce, pickled chilli, red onions, and cucumber.

☆ Tres leches cake Vanilla sponge.

All the food was incredible, so much flavour. The ceviche was excellent, so fresh. The tuna tiradito was incredible, probably my favourite dish of the day. The chicken skewers were awesome. I loved the added crispy chicken skin. The empanadas were the best I've had in London. The tacos were extremely good, especially the St. Louis pork ribs one!!! The dessert was delicious, lovely light sponge with cream and strawberries. Overall, i loved my first experience of @alfonsinalondonx and can't wait to go back soon! Go check it out
