Dinner at @the.cock.hitchin

My dinner experience at the Cock in Hitchin was fantastic, one of the best pubs ive been to in ages!
We started off with some banging cocktails and some homemade bread with @marmite butter.
Next, steak tartare on beef fat brioche and grilled cheese, cheese sauce, pickled onion, caramelised onions, walnut jam. Both are excellent, especially the tartare. For mains, Merryfield Farm duck, port pickled beetroot, spiced plum ketchup, Madeira sauce, and 50 - day aged heritage beef, beef fat hash brown, Cep hollandaise. The duck was cooked a perfection and loved the pickled beetroot. The heritage beef was delicious, and the best dish of the day. The cep Hollandaise was amazing. For dessert, pistachio & olive oil cake, chocolate cream, vanilla ice cream, and Blackberry, sweet wine custard, caramelised puff pastry, muscavado & hazelnut crumble. The pistachio cake was excellent, the other dessert wasn't the best, i wouldn't recommend it. I bit of a nothing dessert. Overall, we loved the pub, food and drink were excellent, and the service was friendly and attentive without hovering. I'd 100% recommend
