Recommended bowl: Green curry ramen

Bassanova is an old beacon on the Tokyo ramen scene, having been featured in various magazine spreads and local TV spots. Most of the bowls here, including both ramen and tsukemen, are served with a tonkotsu-based soup; but the most popular bowl is the 'green curry soba'. The chef takes a traditional Thai green curry made with coconut milk and blends it with a rich tonkotsu broth. The thin noodles nicely suit the flavors of the soup, as does the tori chashu. Back at one of my favourites. There are very few restaurants as charming as this one. Located on the outskirts of Nice is La Chamuière. A restaurant with a focus on utilising the best seasonal produce, speciality meat and the Woodfire grill. It’s a fairly intimate spot that’s dimly lit, with a big butchers block at the centre of the dining room. I only really go here during summer but it’s such a nice vibe for dinner and I managed to sneak it into the schedule during Monaco GP. The grill master has been grilling meat here for over 20 years and his ability to perfectly cook so many things at once is impressive. Saw lots of tomahawks on this visit and the latest delivery was excellent so went for one of those monsters, as well as the A5 Kagoshima rib cap. It’s wild how he cooks it all at once. Directly over the fire for parts, and then off to the back for lower temp cooking with one final blast at the end. Both meats were perfect. Beautifully marbled, well rendered and Smokey. Buttery soft and utterly tender. Served with woodfired potatoes and a bunch of seasonal sides. The starters here are as good as the meat. That focaccia with heirloom tomatoes, truffles and prosciutto is just unreal - one of the most amazing bites. The baked Camembert, the punchy woodfired raw garlic bread and that sweet tomato salad. Carmine Guarino ejerce con talento y libertad, en su Mura Mura Osteria del centro de Málaga, una cocina italiana contemporánea, personalísima y aparentemente sencilla. Composiciones con complejidad de matices y alejadas de esquemas tradicionales que resultan armoniosas a pesar de la profusión de fondos e ingredientes. La paleta de sabores y texturas puede resultar confusa en algunas propuestas pero Guarino sale airoso de la mayor parte de sus platos. Poco amigo de etiquetas, no es lugar para puristas o comensales anclados en los tópicos transalpinos. Sala pequeña y agradable, en pleno centro, servicio muy amable y bodega que permite beber francamente bien. Second trip to @alzeinshawarma, an amazing Syrian spot in Johns Creek at Jones Bridge & Douglas Rd! 🇸🇾🍽️ Not pictured: the Arabic chicken shawarma—differs from Persian with its pocket-sized marinated sliced chicken instead of kabobs. 🥙🔥 It’s pressed more aggressively than Jerusalem Bakery & could loosely be described as more quesadilla-like than my other faves like Yalda, Noosh, JB, etc. Also, maybe a little more spiced! 💥✨ Like the other spots, top shelf but with a unique twist!
Big fan of the hummus, baba ghanoush, & mutabai (roasted eggplant) too! 🧆🥑 Like I always say, my reviews on good, bad & ugly are infallible 😂 but distinguishing between Middle Eastern, Lebanese, Mediterranean, Persian, Syrian, Palestinian, etc.? That’s an art. 🎨 But I can definitely taste the subtle variances, and I’m grateful that in AlphaRozCreek & Sandy Springs, I have some serious options for all of the above! 🙌🌍
