A very delicious dinner at Leo’s. This local charmer on Chatsworth road is worth a visit. It’s a retro-styled Italian diner and @pep_belvedere really knows what he’s doing. I had one of the most amazing dishes here which I’ll save for a separate post - probably one of the tastiest plates I’ve had so far in 2024. Other than that, I had their white lasagne, tagliolini with porcini butter and black truffle and the grilled brill. All three were beautifully prepared. The white lasagne was creamy and al dente with a rich layers of tender pork ragu and spinach throughout. A perfectly caramelised, crispy top. Delectable. The egg yolk tagliolini, made in house with the most vibrant colour and firm texture. Fragrant and tasty. The brill was tender and sweet, with a viscous and tart lemon butter sauce - v good. A super casual and pleasant atmosphere with great service and knowledgable staff! If only there were more spots like this! #notoriousfoodie 🙅🏽‍♂️

Delicious duck at Royal China Club. Golden, lacquered, crispy skin that glistens as it arrives. Carved table-side and served with all the usual condiments. Ultra thin homemade pancakes, sliced cucumber, spring onions and hoisin. For me Peking duck is maybe the ultimate bite. Everything you want in one mouthful. Tender, well seasoned duck meat, crispy skin that has a little rendered duck fat on the inside, cooling crunchy cucumbers and a complex, spiced, sweet hoisin. The soft pancakes are the perfect vehicle for all this goodness. There are some strong contenders in London for Peking duck, interested to know which are everyone’s favourites! The best tartare duo - salmon and toro, served with crispy rice crackers, spring onion and caviar. Second slide is my favourite Zuma dish though - their A5 wagyu gunkan is wild! An incredible bite. Seasoned sushi rice wrapped in crunchy daikon, topped with chopped wagyu tartare and a slice of black truff. The ultra marbled beef just melts as you eat it and the rice is perfectly seasoned. So good #notoriousfoodie 🙅🏽‍♂️

An amazing few days at @waldorfastoria in Shanghai. The very first Waldorf Astoria property in China, located right on the Bund. A stunning property, with a luxurious old-style Shanghai design and perfect location. Beautiful rooms, solid breakfast and top service throughout. The Shanghai skyline and neon lit buildings look insane at night from the rooms. The hotel has plenty of choice in terms of dining too. One of my favourite bites in London without a doubt. The beef tartare and caviar rosti at Dorian is just too good. When I first tried the sensational beef tartare here, I knew it had to be combined with Max’s signature rostis and some caviar. One week later and that’s exactly what went down. A golden morsel of crispy potato and the most unctuous, well balanced raw beefy topping. Congrats to Max and the team on achieving their first Michelin star! Really well deserved. My favourite bistro! Just look at all the plates here. Carefully put together plates using the freshest produce .. ufffff #notoriousfoodie 🙅🏽‍♂️

Back to basics. One of my favourites for Iranian food. The koobideh and jujeh here are always so good. Both grilled over charcoal till charred and smokey. The koobideh is super juicy and flavoursome - fatty minced lamb thats well seasoned and perfectly cooked. So satisfying with the rice. Chicken is great too but the winner for me is their chenjeh when it’s done right. Lamb tenderloin cooked the same way - well cooked and charred - ultra smokey and soft. Green chilli sauce on the side is essential #notoriousfoodie 🙅🏽‍♂️

A roast you can always count on. Aberdeen Angus rump and short rib, horseradish crème fraïche, beef fat roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding, roasted honey vegetables, and the most amazing beef dripping gravy. Everything you need on one table. The confit potatoes here are phenomenal and it’s no surprise as these guys were one of the first to start serving them - super crispy layers of potato with a soft and fluffy centre. Their chicken liver and foie gras parfait with black truffle and toasted brioche was phenomenal. Probably one of the tastiest things you can start a meal with - incredibly smooth and creamy with a subtle sweetness hitting you at the end. For me though the absolute winner was that lemon curd tart. Go here and try it. It’s one of the best lemon tarts in town. That or their brown butter / honey tart.. #notoriousfoodie 🙅🏽‍♂️

A beautiful dinner at The Jade Room in Tokyo. A restaurant led by Michelin-starred Tom Aikens that really makes the most of what Japan’s climate has to offer. It’s a menu led by produce and provenance first and foremost, driven by seasonality and diversity. Warm wood, dim lighting and unobstructed views over Tokyo Tower. An unmatched setting. The menu started with a few light bites and tartlets, all of which were meticulously plated and presented - such intricate work that over-delivered in terms of flavour. Really tasty - the sweetcorn and truffle tartlet was delicious. The scorched onion with bread miso, Hokkaido cheese and truffle was a great follow up dish. For me though, the star dish of the night was that Kyoto amadai with pumpkin and sake. The fish was a work of art - ultra crispy, flaky skin that shattered with the fork. The fish itself, fatty, oily and buttery soft - a melt in the mouth texture. First time trying it. Too good. It even surpassed the Hokkaido venison loin for me in terms of score. Washed this all back with a stunning red from @opusonewinery - a special wine for a special evening! Great dinner #notoriousfoodie 🙅🏽‍♂️
