A lovely lunch at Lisboeta. The menu here is really interesting. It showcases the very best of Portuguese cuisine, using a unique combination of ingredients to yield new types of flavour and depth. The carabinero prawn and cuttlefish rice was the star dish for me. Stunning red prawns, lightly cured and served with the most velvety smooth risotto-style sushi rice. A big focus on ‘wet’ rice over dry here, where Nuno is able to pack in layers upon layers of complexity from the stock through to toppings like their lardo. The confit duck rice was great too with shredded pieces of the confit duck leg scattered throughout the rice. Loved the grilled XL carabinero with sweet potato bread and homemade piri piri. For me the empanadas were a little dense and dry - I think they were crying out for a sauce of some kind, or even more fat in the meat mixture. Flavours were great but texturally I wasn’t sure! For dessert, the Maria biscuit cake with coffee and ice cream - sensational. Cleaned this one up with ease, beautifully presented too #notoriousfoodie 🙅🏽♂️
