The all new French-Mediterranean from Dubai has landed in London. It’s from the same team behind Gaia, so you can expect a similar quality of service, decor and food. As well as having a number of quintessentially French plates on the menu, they have a range of pan-Mediterranean dishes in there too with various pizzas, pastas and Chef Izu specials. If you’re dining here, there are a few must orders. The warm prawns were delicious, as were the garlic and parsley butter escargot. The Izu burger may seem out of place on this menu but once you try it, you’ll be glad it’s there. A sensational Wagyu smash that is sweet, savoury and addictive. The restaurant is like LPM in many ways, but with a few welcomed Izu additions to the menu. Still a few things to iron out but a lot of great dishes on the menu and a lovely dining room. A solid addition to Knightsbridge! #notoriousfoodie 🙅🏽♂️

I don’t usually go for brunch, but when I do, I want it to look a little something like this. Couldn’t resist the menu from Anju in DC. What a spread. The Korean fried chicken was amazing - licked with a gochujang glaze and served with a sweet potato waffle, sesame butter, maple syrup. Light, fluffy waffles with the crispiest, spiciest chicken. Angel’s steak and eggs were just as good. The grilled kalbi short rib ate like a steak - a beautifully deep crust and the most tender bite - perfectly prepared imo. Full of sweet, smokey flavours. One of the other stars from brunch though, was his tater tots. Loaded, topped with paper thin bulgogi beef, kimchi and terra beer cheese sauce. The food here is rich but so well put together - highly recommend for dinner service or brunch too! #notoriousfoodie 🙅🏽♂️

This spot in DC was recommended countless times. It’s an interesting concept with a sort of 5-course tasting menu that leaves you to choose the journey from a selection of dishes. Really casual and 1 Michelin star. I’d describe the menu as modern-American with global influence - you can expect plenty of korean and Japanese flavours mixed in with some Italian. The starting dish was their incredible shokupan with house-churned maple butter - fluffy and soft with the most amazing sweet and salty butter. The next dish was interesting - coconut ice cream with caviar. I guess this is a sort of palette cleanser but a really interesting placement right at the beginning - cleaned the plate obviously. I love this combo. It just works so well. For main course, two pastas and huge grilled shortrib. The Korean red sauce dish a sort of short pasta tossed in a creamy, spicy sauce of gochujang and gochugaru - loved the texture of the pasta, like a gummy bear - a sort of in between to pasta and gnocchi. A really rich sauce though, but difficult to eat alot of it! The spaghetti and nori wasn’t my favourite. Just lots of butter and nori - nothing special imo although addictive once I started. Papaya salad was the favourite dish, just an amazing mix of ingredients, flavours, textures - the lot. Super fresh and tasty. The short rib for me wasn’t great - found it quite tough and underwhelming. What saved this main course though, was that fried chicken and cav. The craziest fried chicken - shatteringly crisp and with maple, sesame and crystal hot sauce. Too good. Lots of interesting plates here - go sit at the counter! #notoriousfoodie 🙅🏽♂️

I love vongole.. and an excellent vongole this was. Went for dinner at the newish Italian spot in Chicago and had some very tasty plates. The spaghetti alle vongle was the highlight for me - al dente, chewy spaghetti, a well emulsified and luscious clam sauce with plenty of parsley, garlic and flecks of peperoncino. A taste of the ocean with the most moreish flavours. The Pici Cacio e Pepe equally as delicious, a touch on the over cooked side but still so enjoyable to eat - the sauce was nice and cohesive, peppery and full of pecorino romano. Branzino alla brace was knockout. Fire grilled Adriatic Sea bass, served with violetta artichokes and a fennel salad. So much flavour on this. Crispy skin, flaky fish and a fresh, crunchy salad on the side. Everything you want on a plate - fresh, tasty and nicely presented. It’s a stunning dining room - a really nice place to eat. Go here and save space for tiramisu. Only fault was the waiter not writing down the order which meant missing dishes.. This Michelin-starred, modern Filipino bakery and restaurant is the perfect morning situation - just get there early to avoid any long queues. In the day time, it’s walk-in’s only and they serve up a delicious mix of beautiful pastries and hot/cold breakfast / brunch items on their menu. From their crispy lumpia Shanghai that’s filled with minced pork and their breakfast sandwich, to the full Filipino breakfast and a freshly baked selection of almost 30 different pastries daily. It’s a spot that really hits every note. I went for a big selection. From the pastries, the truffle croissant is a must - laminated with 82% butter and filled with black truffle and delice de Bourgogne, topped with rock sugar - a perfect sweet savoury balance. Loved the banana tart too - creamy, buttery and delicious. On the savoury side, a full stacked breakfast Sando with soufflé egg, American cheese, longanisa sausage and crispy hash brown - essential. The full Filipino breakfast was great too - with garlic rice and both tocino + sausage in there. Lots to choose from so best to go with company to try a bunch! In the evenings, it’s their tasting menu - I’ll have to go back next trip for this one #notoriousfoodie

Nothing like a big session at Dorian. Needed a moment of silence for that buttermilk fried, crispy guinea fowl leg smothered in house made hot sauce. It was incredibly crisp and flavoursome. The hot sauce is magical. I order extra for dipping those crisps into. They come with the tartare and are so addictive. Steak, flame grilled and tender with a killer crust and luscious beef jus - tenderness can vary depending on what you order and what they have in - it’s difficult to control texture with these older cows but when it hits, it hits in a big way. Ordered all the rostis + a few wild creations that max made on the night - the uni with toro was the perfect amount of OTT, rich, buttery, earthy, wow. Favourite place! #notoriousfoodie 🙅🏽♂️

Had to try both styles of Pizza whilst in Chicago. Deep-dish was good, but there was no turning back after trying Middle Brow’s tavern style pie. Their pizzas are rolled out ultra thin. Like literally cracker thin. There were almost flakey layers to the dough even after it was flattened out to this level. I did half cheese, half pepp on the first pie. On the base, a really rich, sticky and sweet tomato marinara. Plenty of mozz, parm and pepp across the top. It’s then baked until the top and bottom develop a wonderful char and crust. The ratio of toppings to dough per bite is like 5:1 and it just felt like a much lighter way to enjoy pizza. For me it was perfect. Cut into squares so you can choose what bite to enjoy next - centre piece or crust piece is the only question. The pulled lamb and mustard special was delicious too - tangy and delicious. This place brews all their own beer and wine too - plenty of natural varieties to choose from, really good stuff. I tried a bunch of their wines but that orange was crazy. A lovely spot in the sun for pizza and natural wines #notoriousfoodie 🙅🏽♂️

Went for the steak, stayed for grilled bread and sobrassada. Always a good time here. The raw sobrassada with honey is my favourite. Spicy, sweet and addictive. Usually on toasted sourdough but it wasn’t toasted today, prefer the toasted version for sure. The grilled bread with grilled sobrassada equally as delicious though, a nice combination. Those sharp peppers are what complete it. Dover sole was good. Meaty but tender, with a luscious buttery sauce across the top. Silky smooth. Tried one of their new plates which was the favourite of the table - the grilled ox tongue with violet artichoke was sensational. The double beef broth was rich and complex with a really nice mouth feel. Delicious, comforting and super unique flavour profile. Very good food as usual #notoriousfoodie 🙅🏽♂️

A very serious player in Chicago, serving up Basque-influenced fare with plenty of choice in chops and seafood. A dimly-lit dining room and roaring grill just off in the corner. Four choices of beef on offer this evening, all strip-loins. A meaty txuleta, dry-aged Holstein, American Wagyu and Simmental. There was Japanese A5 too but not my vibe in a place like this - I think you need to go for something aged or a txuleta. The grill really puts them to work. Hard to choose but go with your gut! I hit the Holstein which was just incredible. Ultra rich in flavour - nutty and intense, with great marbling and a wonderful crust. Sliced through with ease, just needed a good sprinkling of sea salt. The arroz cremoso was delicious too, doused in uni butter and with a mixed medley of crab and other seafood tossed throughout the rice. For fish, hit the besugo orio style with crispy garlic and chilli - excellent. Semi-fatty and tender - really well cooked and tasty. Peppers on the side are a must - these were top. Lots to choose from here so I’d recommend going as a table of 4 so you can try a few plates. Nice spot for dinner #notoriousfoodie 🙅🏽♂️

What a dish from Bestia. This was the standout for me. A lovely pasta dish consisting of mini spinach gnocchi, tossed in a sauce made from butter and aged balsamic with smoked breadcrumbs and a perfectly roasted marrow bone across the top. The marrow is scooped out and tossed table-side creating a perfectly glossy and emulsified sauce coating each piece of gnocchi. The chew of the pasta was super satisfying. Lovely amount of balsamic to cut through all the richness - sweet and sharp. Everything you could want in a bite. Nice little spot for casual Italian #notoriousfoodie 🙅🏽♂️
