It's giving little sister energy in a good way- she's fun, takes risks and is great value for money. 💰

We went back to try their breakfast items and I was surprised how good it was. I had some of this stuff when I was a kid in Saudi because there is a tons of Iraqi joints there and this was soooo authentic 😋

Maison Sota @maison_sota by @sotaatsumi is a special restaurant with genuinely unique and delicious cuisine. It definitely lives up to its reputation. Lunch is great as the natural light from above fills the dining room. Almada Bakery @almadabakery in Kensal Rise is a great new Portuguese bakery. The pastel de nata is probably the best in London. When asked how they make them so good, the response was: “We use a bit of lemon and cinnamon in the custard and also use cinnamon water when shaping them which I believe makes a small difference. I also think the ingredients we use make our Natas the best they can be, estate dairy cultured butter, shipton mill flour and estate dairy milk. Happy they don’t go unnoticed 💛”. La Brinca in Ne @la_brinca has to be one of the most special and magical restaurants in Italy. It’s quite hard to get to but the location is amazing and many of the dishes are ancient local recipes which are almost impossible to find anywhere else. Swipe to the end to see the menu. Amazing pesto on frisciulla (a local wheat pancake with a mochi like texture with pesto made by hand with a pestle and mortar) / crozetti pasta with rabbit, pine nuts and olives (a pasta from the 13th century with a stamp embossed on it that holds the sauce well - often a family crest) / assortment of local appetizers / cabannina (local cow meat) with salt and raw porcini mushrooms / chestnut gnocchi with the amazing pesto / stuffed lettuce in broth 🥰 / panera (coffee ice cream and milk cream). #labrinca #trattorialabrinca #liguria Less

For the final Chasing Stars episode of 2025, I returned to a place that means more to me than most: @christoph_rueffer_haerlin Haerlin in @fairmont_hotelvierjahreszeiten Hamburg.

Not just because it finally received its third Michelin star this year, but because this is where I started this account two years ago, on December 3rd, 2023.

Back then, I wrote that Haerlin was the epitome of classical fine dining: respectful of the past, yet looking firmly toward the future. A restaurant worth travelling for.

Since then, Chef Christoph Rüffer has continued the same quiet pursuit of improvement, day by day, year by year until, in June, Haerlin earned the highest recognition a restaurant can receive, joining just 12 restaurants in Germany and around 150 worldwide to hold three stars.

The cuisine is product-driven, light and elegant yet powerful, while the service, led by Restaurant Manager Marius Jürke @j.marius_ embodies true Fingerspitzengefühl: intuitive, precise, and deeply human.

To me, Haerlin is the quintessence of German elegance. Understated. Methodical. Crafted with care. Never loud, never chasing attention.

Like a Mercedes-Benz S-Class: it’s timeless, reliable, and quietly exceptional.
